Krishna is a very weak unit will join your party automatically upon a player unit ending their turn north of the bridges. The enemies around Krishna will all start attacking her. The most dangerous ones are the Bishop with the accurate Elthunder tome, and the Sergeant with the powerful Steel Blade. To lower the risk of Krishna dying, make sure all of your units are near the bridge before having your more mobile units charge forward and defeat Maerchen to end the chapter. It is also a good idea to have Shigen draw out the 2-range enemies while equipped with the Dullahan. Note that the Summoner will sometimes summon Harpies, which are very tedious to kill.
Trivia
With a 10 movement unit (e.g. eitherMel orLionel with enough movement level ups), it is possible to defeat Maerhen without triggering the cutscene whereRenee is thrown in the ocean andKrishna joins Holmes's army. In this case, the ending scripts will play as normal, including Krishna's dialogues, but Krishna will not be in Holmes's army.
