Rune (Japanese:ルーンRune) is a character who debuts as a major protagonist in Book IX ofFire Emblem Heroes.

Rune is a Mythic Hero, added to the cast of the game at the launch of Book IX, and is the first original character introduced in that book to be playable. Rune was added to the game on December 4, 2024.

Rune is naturally sickly; this caused him to be shy and timid, and to not go outside much.^[1] The only comfort he felt was from the legendary stories he read.

It's happened: The celestial realm of Ásgarðr has begun its invasion of Askr. Rune comes from Ásgarðr, but there's a reason why he's helping us instead...	Mysterious writings exist in the nine realms that are said to speak about the beginning of creation. No one has known how to read them—until Rune!	And in doing so, he discovered part of a prophecy called the Twilit Runes. He reported his find to Alfaðör, the king of Ásgarðr, who responded by ordering Rune's capture!	Alfaðör means to imprison Rune to keep anyone else from taking advantage of his knowledge. Now, it's up to the Order of Heroes to keep Rune safe!
