Personality

Rikard is obsessed with winning fame and glory for himself through his battles. He believes that defeating foes as powerful as Ike and the Crimean army, after all of their victories against Daein will ensure that he achieves this, and was similarly impressed when Crimean refugees resisted him as well as they did.[1] In his view, no matter how much fame he attains, being defeated puts an end to all of it. He realizes that killing defenselessherons is wrong, but resigns himself to doing it to put an end to Ike's army.
