Rebecca (Japanese:レベッカRebacca) is a 15-year oldArcher appearing inFire Emblem: The Blazing Blade. Initially joining Eliwood in order to repay him for saving her village and to try and find her long lost brother, she later becomes a devoted member of Pherae's army and ends up giving birth to a sonWolt who helps outRoy inFire Emblem: The Binding Blade.
Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade
Role
Pre-game
Rebecca was born in a village inPherae,Lycia in a stable family that consists of the village magistrate as her father, an unseen mother, and her older brother Dan; this village is also whereWil hails from, and the two were childhood friends. In her spare time, Rebecca not only learnt how to cook well, but also to wield a bow in order to hunt.
Despite her idyllic early life, Rebecca found herself alone at the age of ten, five years prior to the start of the game; while still with her parents, Dan and Wil chose to leave the village in order to have adventures in the world and to hopefully come back rich. Rebecca initially accepted this departure, but upon receiving no written word from either over five years, she gradually grew more frustrated. Regardless, she keeps herself hopeful that the two will one day return.
In-game
Rebecca is first seen shortly after Eliwood elects to leave Pherae to look forElbert. Just before leaving the area, a nearby village ends up falling to bandits led byGroznyi; the cavalierLowen rides out from it to report the state to Eliwood, and in his tow are two people from the village:Mark and Rebecca. The latter informs Eliwood of the banditry, and Eliwood chooses to assist her as one last task before he leaves Pherae. After defeating Groznyi, Rebecca elects to continue to journey with Eliwood, claiming that not only does she plan on repaying him, but also that she may end up meeting her brother again. Amid her continued persistence, her father begrudgingly allows her to travel with him, on the condition that she strictly obeys him at all times.
Just after helping Eliwood liberateCaelin from a surprise attack byLaus, Rebecca ends up reuniting with her childhood friendWil, who ended up getting enlisted in Caelin's army. In addition, Rebecca also comes across a familiar face; while claiming otherwise, the pirateDart reminds Rebecca of her older brother, to the point where he even has the same scars as him from an incident with a stag. While continuing to deny his relation to her, he does admit there exists the possibility the two know each other due to him having amnesia starting five years prior, the same time that Dan and Wil left Pherae, and the same time the two split during their adventures.
Post-game
In all her endings, Rebecca elects to return to the village in Pherae, but she continues to stay in service to Pherae. Depending on the player's actions, however, she may return there with a new significant other, consisting of either Wil, Lowen, orSain. In her paired endings, Rebecca is noted to give birth to a "green-haired son" that shares her skill with the bow, a description that matchesWolt; while she herself does not appear, Wolt fulfills a similar role inFire Emblem: The Binding Blade, acting as a close friend to Roy, the son of the man whom Rebecca wanted to repay, and he inherits her starting class of being an archer. Owing that Wolt's character description claims that he is Roy's milk-brother, this also means that Rebecca concurrently breast-fed an infant Roy with her own infant son due to the early death of Roy's mother.

Analysis
| This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience. |
Rebecca starts off weak; in the first chapter she appears in, she can only deal about seven damage to opposing enemies, she cannot double attack, and her low defense and starting HP can make her very fragile. While her growth rates are good, due to her being mostly used for chip damage at base she will have a hard time getting levels without favoritism. She will additionally be mostly useless on enemy phase which is particularly bad in a game with high enemy density and low enemy quality such asThe Blazing Blade, not to mention the extremely powerful 1-2 range weapons available in the game.
Rebecca's support options are all considered quite good, due to her fire affinity, as well as the fact that most of her potential support partners have either the wind or fire affinity, thus increasing her attack slightly, and significantly increasing her evasion, hit percentage, and critical rate. However Rebecca will be unable to make use of her good support options on faster playthroughs because of how long they take to build.
Overall, while Rebecca may be a fun character to use, her bad bases and being locked to 2 range means she will fare poorly when compared to the rest of the cast.
Comparison to Wil
Compared to Wil, Rebecca has higher growths in speed, luck, and resistance; as a result, she will have a better chance at evading attacks aimed at her, whereas Wil, with better defense and HP growths, will do a better job at absorbing blows. Despite this, it is difficult to ascertain which archer is better, owing to availabilities that are not significantly different, equivalent skill, light weapons that can circumvent their constitutions, and potential to lack in a certain stat (strength for Rebecca and speed for Wil). Both units also share the same main flaws where they have weak base stats and classes that are limited in their abilities to attack on enemy phase.
Comparison to Rath
Compared toRath, almost all of Rebecca's growths are superior, with the exception of HP and strength; Rath, however, comes with superior bases, especially movement, and rescuing potential due to being a mounted unit. He also has the ability to use swords upon promotion, though he still lacks 1-2 range. Rath's better base stats and rescue utility means that he is much better without investment, and as both units are flawed for their poor enemy phase this makes him the generally superior unit.

Rebecca/Heroes
There are two different variations of Rebecca available inHeroes.
Personality
Rebecca initially appears as a tomboy to most characters around her; to Eliwood, notably, she shows a refusal to flee when her village is attacked by bandits, and instead opts to fight with the bow.[5]
Rebecca's insistence on leaving her village also draws the ire of her father, who eventually relents after calling the youth as stubborn as her own mother.[6] Rebecca also takes a considerably more forceful position in romance than other female characters as well; notably, she kicks Wil in the stomach when he speaks about his adventures after leaving their village,[7] berates and refuses to listen to him when he tries to make it up,[8] and in a particularly strong case, outright rejects and later insults Sain's numerous romantic advances on her,[9] to the point of calling him a pig in their last support.[10] Despite these tomboyish tendecies, Rebecca is aware of her own temperament, and upon meetingLouise, Rebecca implores the noble to teach her how to act like a proper woman.[11]
True to being fifteen years old, however, Rebecca does show a softer, "girlier" side multiple times in the game. Rebecca's view on romance does seem more in line for someone of her age with some subjects. An example occurs in supports with Lowen; compared to other males in the game, Rebecca warms up considerably more to Lowen, and while recounting the supposed tale of how Lowen supposedly saved her, she embellishes countless details her retelling.[12] While she does not fall in love withRaven, she does show interest in him at first, claiming that while Raven's demeanour is quite callous, she likes his physical appearance;[13] as noted by Raven himself, she still acts like a young child when she starts crying in front of him.[14] Supports with the similarly-aged Nino also show this side of Rebecca; upon teaching the young mage how to construct necklaces out of dried berries, the two briefly discuss their crushes, with Nino giving Rebecca the necklace she made so that the archer can try to romance her love.[15]

Rebecca, A Wildflower, and Wil, Archer Without Equal
After their journey, Rebecca continued to work for Eliwood and became his most trusted retainer. Her childhood friend, Wil, joined her in service to Pherae. The son they later had shared their archery skills.
Rebecca, A Wildflower, and Sain, the Green Lance
When her grandfather died, Lyn asked that Caelin be taken under Ostian protection. Sain requested a discharge and moved to Pherae with his beloved Rebecca. Their son is nothing like his father, thankfully.
