This sword is quite unique because, in every appearance exceptThracia 776,Shadows of Valentia, andThree Houses, it can be only wielded by certain characters of noble descent; it is thepersonal weapon ofMarth,Roy,Eliwood, andEirika, as well as a class weapon for theLord tree inAwakening.

Fairly light and accurate yet somewhat weak, this weapon dealsextra damage against armored and mounted units.

Trivia

• Phina can wield the Rapier inFire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem. According to Intelligent Systems' website, this is due to a secret of her heritage.^[1] This was not retained inFire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem, although it was brought back for her appearance inHeroes.
• InThe Blazing Blade and the NTSC version ofThe Sacred Stones, the Rapier's description is erroneous: it states that it is effective against infantry. This was fixed in the PAL version of theThe Sacred Stones.
• In the Japanese version ofThe Sacred Stones, the Rapier had no effective bonus against Mage Knights. This was changed in the international versions.
