The Healing Hands originally healed the sick and wounded. One time, Læraðr left the children to aid the king's illness, who believed that they cannot aid the good and abandon the ones they think are bad. The Healing Hands brought up the villagers who told them how awful the tyrant king was.
The tyrant king had Læraðr's children killed. However, Læraðr transplanted seeds of his dead children into the hearts of other kids, having them believe that they are Læraðr's biological children.[2] Under a different name, the Quieting Hands, Læraðr followed the tyrant king's orders, wishing to get his real family back. Taking his own life,[3] he took a withered branch from the World-Tree, implanting his heart and his powers, creating a new Læraðr.[4]
Eventually, Eikþyrnir was the first member of the Quieting Hands to accidentally learn the truth of being a fake family; this information was later passed onto Ratatoskr, Hræsvelgr, and Níðhöggr. After Hræsvelgr and Níðhöggr failed their missions, Læraðr removed the seeds from their hearts, putting them in a lifeless state. After the Order of Heroes and Ratatoskr defeated Læraðr, Alfonse confirmed the truth that Eikþyrnir witnessed with what happened to the real Læraðr. Feeling guilty learning that he is also a "fake", he revived Hræsvelgr and Níðhöggr, and gave the antidote to Ratatoskr so she can recover Henriette and the afflicted. Afterwards Læraðr passed away, while the Healing Hands reunited.
