Analysis
This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience. |
Python is anArcher that joins near the end ofAct 1. Python has somewhat low bases even when taking into account his fairly good availability, but he has fairly decent growths, particularly inattack andspeed growth. Python also joins at a fairly lowlevel, and since he joins at level 3, he will need four levels to promote toSniper. Using him near requires grinding, as otherwise he can either promote by Sylvan Shrine, at which point he will be underleveled, or the player can backtrack to promote him, which will result in an extra map spawnskirmish which effectively is forced grinding. His performance inthe final map of Act 1 is poor due to the floor tiles, but thankfully his hit rates are not this problematic later on. As an archer, he has a niche, attacking distant enemies, which will be useful to open the way for the other units and fight back against the enemy archers.
Throughforging in Act 3, the player can obtain aKiller Bow, a very useful weapon that can be created from theSteel Bow obtained in Act 1. In addition to its respectable accuracy and highcritical rate, through using it Python can learn the combat artHunter's Volley. Hunter's Volley has the effect of always allowing its user to attack twice in a row from a long distance. With its extra boosts to attack and critical rate, this art allows Python to deal great damage to most enemies, usually one-rounding them if he lands a critical hit. Thanks to this, Python can become one of the strongest combat units inAlm's army. He will be a great counter to enemy Archers andArcanists due to being one of the only units that can counter them, with the crit rate of a Killer Bow helping as well. Afterward, Python will be able to promote toBow Knight, which will significantly boost hismovement, allowing him to hit many far away enemies without them being able to counterattack. His only weakness long-term is that a Dread-looped Archer will be much better than him stat-wise and compete with him for weapons.
Overall, Python has a fairly shaky start, with his somewhat mediocre bases and low level. However, after promotion and getting the Killer Bow his combat will vastly improve and Python will be able to make many annoying sections much more manageable thanks almost solely to his great class. Python competes with a Villager Archer, but he can fulfill said role as well, allowing him to be used alongside one or instead of one.

Personality
This section has been marked as astub. Please help improve the page by adding information.
Python is somewhat apathetic to the world around him, and only joined theDeliverance due to superior pay to his previous carpentry job[1] in addition toForsyth's insistence.[2] Python and Forsyth have known each other since childhood; Python thinks of Forsyth as a, perhaps naive, dreamer.[3] Python, however, prefers to take a more objective view on life, and pays little heed to dreams and instead focuses on obtaining necessities.[4]

Ending
Gaiden
In order to protect villages from plundering bandits, he put all his effort into serving as the captain of a vigilante group.
Echoes: Shadows of Valentia
If Forsyth survived
While the One Kingdom offered him a knighthood, Python chose a quieter life as head of a frontier militia that defended villages and towns from brigands. His old friend would visit now and then, often with a bottle the two would use to wile the night away.
If Forsyth died
Python accepted a knighthood from the One Kingdom, growing into a new man who worked diligently—almost as if possessed by Forsyth. Sadly, he died a few short years later while fighting to suppress a rebellion, his wounds claiming him while he was far too young.
