Peres is tasked byMurdock into retrieving Apocalypse, apparently untouched for a very long time (itswielder not needing to take it from its shrine to help one ofhis comrades in agreatbattle twenty years prior despite himself still being alive at the time to be able to do so) from deep within the Temple of Seals in the name of Bern, but ends up encounteringRoy and his army, in the area to retrieve Apocalypse for their own cause, and ends up defeated.

Should the player fail to access chapter 21x, Peres will appear inthe preceding chapter to signal the player's failure to unlock chapter 21x.
