Nomah (Japanese:ノーマNorma) is a playable character inFire Emblem Gaiden. He isCelica's mentor and protector. He resides at theNovis Priory, performing the duties of a priest ofMila.

Role

Nomah appears early in the game, despite this he is the very last character to join Celica's group. This makes him Celica's late-game pre-promoted magic user, though he is not particularly strong.

Nomah is the guardian of Celica. Celica was put under his care byMycen afterDesaix murdered theZofian royal family. Nomah dislikes that Celica wants to travel to the temple of Mila, as the Zofian government has ceased to perform its protective duties andmonsters have begun to appear, but allows her to go in the end. Nomah is aware of Celica's status as princess of Zofia, and does not want the bloodline to be lost.

Nomah's worries end up getting to him, so he follows Celica on her travels, though not quite able to catch up. He eventually arrives at the temple of Mila, Celica's destination, but ends up falling into a part of the temple that controls the flow of water. Celica finds him down there, and he is somewhat embarrassed to have been the one ending up in such a foolish situation. He laughs it off, and joins Celica on the last stretch of her journey, throughRigel.

Nomah joins at the beginning ofCelica's Act 4 as a pre-promoted Level 7Sage.

He boasts a solid spell list includingSagittae andExcalibur right out of the box, and his solid Resistance allows him to tank enemyArcanists andCantors without too much trouble. However, his poor HP, Speed, and Defense ensure he will be torn to shreds by any competent physical enemy, so he should be kept away from the front lines. The area he is recruited in contains aMage Ring that Nomah can make good use of to chip enemies from outside their range, allowing him to circumvent his poor bulk.

Nomah overall is an unspectacular but serviceable late-game filler unit who can support the Pilgrimage with chip damage and healing during the final maps, though he will likely not function as a frontline combatant.

As with many characters inGaiden, Nomah does not have particularly detailed characterization. Nomah's most evident trait is his devotion to hisgoddess,Mila. He often mentions her, wishing for her blessing on himself or others.

He clearly worries for Celica's safety, and even journeys out after her.

Nomah: Priest of Mila
Nomah is the priest who serves the priory on Novis Island in Valentia. Kind, thoughtful, and a powerful wielder of magic, he also has a playful, lighthearted side!	After Zofia was plunged into chaos by Chancellor Desaix's coup, Nomah's old acquaintance Mycen trusted him with the care of a certain young girl who was hiding out in his village. That girl was Celica, the last of the Zofian royal line!	Keeping Celica's identity a secret, Nomah raised her to become an upstanding warrior priestess. He was the one who saw her off when she left the priory with an important duty.	Nomah worried about Celica's safety after she left. In fact, I hear that he's keen to follow after her and rejoin her, so I hope he takes care on the road!
