Necrodragon
| ||||||
|
TheNecrodragon (Japanese:ドラゴンゾンビDragonzombie), referred to asDraco Zombie inThe Sacred Stones, is aadvancedclass ofmonsters which was introduced inFire Emblem Gaiden. They aredragon corpses resurrected through the dark powers ofDuma orFomortiis, which attack by biting their foes inGaiden andEchoes: Shadows of Valentia, and through blasts ofWretched Air inFire Emblem: The Sacred Stones. InGaiden andEchoes: Shadows of Valentia, they also have a more powerful counterpart in theWhite Dragon.
In all of its appearances, Necrodragons are typically encountered late in the game and are among the most powerful generic enemies the player will face. The class has an immensestrength stat backing each of their attacks, which is made even more fearsome inThe Sacred Stones through the highmight,range and stat boosts granted by its Wretched Air attack. Defeating them is made even more challenging by their highHP,defense andresistance, although players can simplify this by taking advantage of their weakness to certainweapons designed to be effective against dragons or monsters, such as theSacred Twins ofThe Sacred Stones.
Necrodragons tend to play a somewhat prominent plot role in the games where they appear. They are part of a major event inGaiden andEchoes: Shadows of Valentia, whereAlm is trapped in Dragon Mountain late inAct 4 and is constantly attacked by waves of Necrodragons untilCelica can reach theDuma Tower and clear the way forward for him. InThe Sacred Stones, themanakete characterMorva is transformed into a Draco Zombie byLyon inChapter 20 and acts as the boss of that chapter, although he is still classed as a "Manakete".
