Nagi (Japanese:ナギNagi) is a playableManakete appearing inFire Emblem: Shadow Dragon andFire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem. In both games that she appears in, there is little solid information about Nagi. However it is heavily implied, both in the dialogue and in the game data, that Nagi's true identity isNaga, the Divine Dragon King.

Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon

Role

Nagi with anotherFalchion, as depicted inFire Emblem Cipher.

Nagi's primary gameplay purpose is to serve as a failsafe for the player. She is only recruited if Marth has failed to collect Falchion, and Tiki has either died or not been recruited. With her Divine Dragon power, and her possession of another Falchion, she is Marth's saving grace.

She first appears in Chapter 24x if the player completesChapter 24 withoutTiki andFalchion in their possession (althoughan exploit can be used to keep Falchion). If this occurs,Gotoh warnsMarth that he does not possess the power to defeatMedeus and advises him to seek help from the guardian of a tower located in another realm. At the top of the tower, Marth meets Nagi, who agrees to join Marth's cause and rewards him with a weaker version of the original Falchion. During the battle with Medeus, Medeus remarks that he knows Nagi, but their relationship is unclear.[1] She is also apparently familiar withGotoh.[2]

Analysis

This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience.

Nagi is the final character recruited through a side quest and she only joins the player ifTiki is dead and theFalchion is not in the player's possession. Due to joining with theDivinestone Nagi does effective damage to enemy manaketes, along with being able to heavily damageMedeus, but since her speed cap is only 24 when counting the Divinestone boost, she gets doubled by Medeus on higher difficulties. Nagi also is not available in the preparations of the Endgame, but joins on turn 1, so she has to use stat-boosting items on the map. Due to being able to heavily damage Medeus with decent accuracy she can be revived with theAum staff received inChapter 24 to revive her and have her finish off Medeus in a single turn with theWarp staff. Counterintuitively, Nagi is less reliable than Tiki at this despite her better stats, as while she has higher hit, she has higher avoid and more importantly is two-shot rather than one-shot, meaning Medeus needs to connect twice to kill instead of once out of two attacks.

Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem

Role

Like inShadow Dragon, Nagi serves as a powerful lategame unit to assist Marth in the last leg of his journey.

Nagi comes to Marth's aid once again, joining Marth's army of her own accord inChapter 22, but Marth does not recognize her and only finds her familiar,[3] possibly indicating Nagi's recruitment inShadow Dragon did not occur.

Analysis

This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience.

Nagi is one of the last characters to join inNew Mystery of the Emblem. Her bases are not particularly high for such a late join time and her high growths do not matter much this late into the game, but herDivinestone makes up for those weaknesses. Because of her Divinestone she is one of the best dragonkillers in the last few chapters of the game, she cannot one shot the on Lunatic and Lunatic reverse so it is recommended to give her two energy drops or chip enemy dragons with a longbow sniper to give Nagi the ability to finish them off. Nagi is also fairly bulky, while her low speed ends up making her get doubled and one rounded by most enemies at this point in the game, she has high enough physical durability to survive a single enemy attack and has a very high resistance making her good against magic enemies, notably the Levin sword swordmaster in chapter 22. It should be noted that Nagi's Divinestone doesn't have effective damage on Medeus, making her a poor option for dealing with the final boss. Overall, Nagi is a good endgame filler unit that serves as fail-safe if you have not trained upTiki and need some additional firepower against the large number of powerful enemy dragons.

Fire Emblem Heroes

Role

There are two versions of Nagi available inHeroes, both based on her appearance inNew Mystery of the Emblem. The normal variation of Nagi was added in theWhere It Began update, and became available for summoning by players on September 19, 2019. A Halloween variation of Nagi—a Harmonized Hero paired withIdunn—was added on October 4, 2024, and was first available to summon from then to November 5, 2024.

Ooh, get a load of that mysterious aura! There's definitely something unusual about this Hero… Is it just me? Anyway, this time, I'll be talking about Nagi! Not much is known about Nagi, and her past is equally shrouded in mystery. The only thing that I know for sure is that she once used the power of the Divine Dragons to help Marth.By the way, it seems like not even Nagi knows very much about herself. She remembers that she'd been sleeping for a very long time, somewhere far, far away…and that's about it. I wonder what she dreamt about?Nagi's past and identity remain a riddle. Will she ever recover her lost memories? I can't wait to find out!

Nagi: Hopeful Eternity
Nagi is a Divine Dragon said to have once fought in Archanea, while Idunn is a Divine Dragon of the continent of Elibe. They’re here together to join the harvest festival! Here’s Nagi’s special costume for the festival. That orange-and-purple ribbon sure does add a cheerful splash of color to the look!Meanwhile, Idunn’s wearing this frilly number. Those horns are just accessories, but the wings and tails of both festivalgoers are very real! For Nagi, the excitement of the festival took a little getting used to at first, but now she’s out having a great time trick-or-treating with Idunn!
