In video games, a movie or cutscene is a mechanic that minimizes or removes control from the player to show exposition or story. In some cases, these can be pre-rendered and stored as movie files in the game. Some video games offer a theater mode to allow the player to rewatch these movies for their enjoyment.

In theFire Emblem series, the first movies were implemented inFire Emblem: Path of Radiance along with a theater. InFire Emblem: Radiant Dawn andFire Emblem Awakening onward, everyFire Emblem game includes pre-rendered movies that can be rewatched anytime in a movie gallery.
