Monke (Japanese:モンケMöngke) was the chieftain of theDjute clan ofSacae as ofthe year 1000. Under his direction, the Djute clan attempted to fight off theBern invasion forces at the dawn of theDisturbance of Bern, but after being defeated the tribe submitted themselves to serving Bern in its occupation of Sacae, and assisted in the decimation and subjugation of the other tribes.
When the Etrurian army led byRoybegan its march through Sacae, its route took them through the site of a Djute encampment. Having sighted their approach, Monke ordered his forces to lure Roy into their territory, then strike with their brute force. Though he had his men confirm that other allied clans had been notified, he felt confident that with Bern's support their assistance was unnecessary, but nonetheless that the law of Sacae would force the other tribes to help repel the Etrurian army. He was in the ensuing fight, disappointed that his "flawless" plan had failed.
