Might
- This article is about the weapon stat. For the staff of this name, seeMight (staff).
Might (Japanese:威力Power) is a stat applied to weapons in theFire Emblem series, analogious to thestrength/magic of aunit. It is a measure of the weapon's raw attacking power when wielded in battle; the higher a weapon's might, the more damage it will deal. Typically, as a unit gains access to weapons of higherweapon level, these higher-ranked weapons will possess greater might. Might also functions as something of a base damage output value—under theoretical conditions of a weapon's wielder having 0 strength or magic and the targeted enemy having 0defense orresistance, and with neither side possessing any bonuses fromsupports, theweapon triangle orbonus damage, the weapon's might value is the amount of damage which will be dealt in a single blow.
Of theweapon triangle andTrinity of Magic, axes anddark magic are traditionally associated with possessing the highest might of their respective weapon groups, and thus the greatest raw power; counterbalanced by being theheaviest andleast accurate.
This term is also used in some games'combat forecasts to refer to how much damage will be dealt in an attack.
