Metodey (Japanese:メトジェイMetodej) is a minor antagonist appearing inFire Emblem: Three Houses. He is a hired sword who works for theFlame Emperor in the main story and kidnapsAelfric in Cindered Shadows.

Biography

Metodey is a mercenary for hire, infamous inAbyss for his willingness to do anything as long he gets paid.^[2] He makes his first chronological appearance inThree Houses inCindered Shadows, as the leader of a group of bandits who had abductedAelfric in order to seize theChalice of Beginnings.Byleth and theAshen Wolves quickly find and defeat him, only for Metodey to escape as he considers the Chalice not worth dying for.

Metodey next appears in main story interrupting ArchbishopRhea's Holy Tomb ceremony under the service of theFlame Emperor, with the intention of raiding the tomb of itsCrest Stones just after Byleth had sat down onSothis's throne. Metodey then attempts to slay either Byleth and/or their class should they initiate battle with him, only to likely end up killed in the process. If ignored, he won't make any further story appearances.

Metodey is a mini-boss in Chapter 11 of the main story and the boss of Chapter 5 inCindered Shadows.

Metodey is a non-playable character who appears as a boss during Part II of all routes. He works forThose who slither in the dark. If it is attempted before he is encountered in the main story, Metodey also appears as the boss ofThe Ashen Wolves' Reunion.

Personality

While seemingly motivated purely by money and fame, Metodey shows a sadistic steak when it comes to killing his targets, suggesting he relishes doing particularly violent jobs. Should Metodey end up bested in battle however, he will quickly swallow his pride and beg for forgiveness, even claiming he was merely following orders.
