Merlock is deployed byTravant duringChapter 9 to killthe bandits reported in the region. Merlock attacksLeif's forces, mistaking them for the bandits.

It is possible that Merlock is killed by Leif's forces, though if Leif's forces swiftly retreat toHannibal's mansion while Merlock is still aliveAltena arrives with a report that the people inhabiting the mansion are not bandits and has Merlock's forces stand down.[1]
