Merach (Japanese:ムラクMulark) is aKnight ofMacedon and the boss ofChapter 5 ofFire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light and its remakes,Mystery of the Emblem Book 1 (where it is Chapter 4) andShadow Dragon. Merach and his band have set themselves outside CastleAurelis and have set their sights on preventingMarth and his army from coming to the aid ofthe country's king and PrincessNyna of Archanea, but are eventually defeated by a combination of Marth,Hardin, and their respective armies.

- There is a second,unused portrait of Merach inShadow Dragon that is slightly different than his used portrait. The unused file is named "MULAC" while the used one is named "MULARK".
- Merach does not need to be defeated inShadow Dragon & the Blade of Light, as the square beside him is also a castle tile that Marth can seize. However, there is no alternate dialogue or change to the narrative should Merach live.
