Memories (Japanese:母の記憶Mother's Memory) is the twenty-second chapter of theRevelation campaign ofFire Emblem Fates. In this chapter,Corrin and the others come face-to-face withAzura'sundead mother.
Plot

Corrin and the group are seen travelling through a forest, which Corrin notes as seeming to go on forever.Azura says that she is familiar with it, holding her mother's hand in it. Suddenly, her motherArete arrives, introducing herself as a servant toAnankos, stating that all inValla are his servants. Azura then recognizes her as the mage that they foughtwhen they first arrived in Valla. Corrin,Xander andRyoma express their hesitation to fight Arete, though Azura says that she knows Arete is merely a puppet in this form. The being also denies herself as Azura's mother. Azura rallies the group to defeat her so that they can reach Anankos.
Being defeated, Arete retreats. Ryoma comes to understand why Azura did not see her as her mother. Azura says that she still does not find it easy to see her this way. She says how her mother was the one to teach her the songs she sings, as well as the history of Valla, and that it is thanks to her that they are even fighting Anankos now. When Corrin asks if she will be ready to defeat her should they fight again, Azura says that she will.
Summary
As Xander and Ryoma suspect, Anthony betrays Corrin. His ambush is a failure, however, and the party emerges from the ruins into an ominous forest.
