Maxime (Japanese:マクシムMaxim) is a subordinate ofUrsula of theBlack Fang'sFour Fangs, and a mini-boss ofChapter 26 (Ch.28H) ofFire Emblem: The Blazing Blade. Not much about Maxime is known as he only speaks once, being a rare boss character to have spoken dialogue but no in-battle quotes of any sort, but it's known that he's among Ursula's forces sent to killZephiel,Jaffar, andNino, but ultimately fails and ends up defeated, either byEliwood,Hector,Lyn, and their army, or by Jaffar.
Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade
Role
Maxime is a mini-boss inChapter 26 (or 28 in Hector's tale). In Eliwood Mode, he's positioned next to Ursula, while Hector Mode instead has him located on the left side of the smaller of the two horizontal passageways within the castle. He moves to attack units in his range in all modes except for Eliwood Normal Mode, in which he moves immediately.
In Hector Hard Mode specifically, Maxime is far stronger than in other difficulties, making him significantly more dangerous than usual.

Trivia
- In what is possibly an oversight, Maxime lacks the dedicated internal boss flag despite being treated as a boss enemy in the story. Because of this, he does not display an icon and player units receive less experience when fighting him than they would if the flag were on.
- An oversight is responsible for Maxime's extremely high Hector Hard Mode stats. Maxime is set to gain autolevels in Hector Hard Mode as if he was a generic paladin, causing him to gain stats like a generic enemy on top of his existing base stats as a boss. He shares this trait withFargus, although Fargus is set to autolevel on Eliwood Hard Mode, not Hector Hard Mode.
