Analysis
| This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience. |
Mauvier is the penultimate unit to join the player's army in the base game and comes as a prepromotedRoyal Knight. Due to his late join time, Mauvier sports high base stats in most areas, aside from his middling speed. Mauvier also has high or average growth rates in most areas, with his only lower growth rates being in strength, speed and luck, however, due to his low availability Mauvier's growths won't come into play too much. Mauvier also joins with the skillsContemplative andReforge, both underwhelming and situational skills that have little use compared to the actions Mauvier do in a turn instead.
Mauvier joins with high weapon ranks, allowing him to wield strong weaponry in his joining chapter ofChapter 21. However, due to the heavy weapons he joins and his middling speed, Mauvier will be unable to double any of the enemies aside from theCorrupted Wyrm and will instead get doubled by most enemies in said chapter, including getting doubled by the chapters boss Veyle. As such, its recommended to trade lighter weapons to Mauvier as he will get worn down by enemies quickly, despite his solid defenses.
Due to the Royal Knight class being somewhat underwhelming, Mauvier benefits from aSecond Seal in order to reclass into a stronger class. Mauvier's most obvious option isMage Knight which has significantly higher speed and allows Mauvier to be a more potent unit due to the lower average weight of tomes and the skillChaos Style improving his speed significantly.Wyvern Knight is another strong option for Mauvier as it improves his strength, gives him flight and the skillAir Raid for improving his speed.Griffin Knight is another option for Mauvier as it allows him to combine his proficiency in staves with flight for strong utility.
Mauvier can make strong use of mostEmblem Rings due to his flexible stats and growths, but by the time Mauvier joins the player should have a fully completed team that has built up bond levels with their Emblem Rings and inherited skills and weapons.
Overall, Mauvier is a filler lategame unit meant to patch up the player's army in case there are any units who aren't strong enough to contribute in the lategame compared to him. Mauvier can function well in the final chapters of the game, but most players will already have access to stronger options by the time he joins.
