| “ | I suppose there is little wisdom in my going. I know nothing of battle. But I will watch over our daughter while you are away. | ” | — The Maiden, toChrom |

TheMaiden (Japanese:村娘village girl) is a character inFire Emblem Awakening. She is a potential wife ofChrom and Queen ofYlisse.
Fire Emblem Awakening
Role
The maiden is asubstitute character of sorts who only appears if Chrom is unmarried by the end ofChapter 11. This is considered difficult to achieve, as Chrom must have noSupport points with any of his other potential wives, or all his potential wives must bedead or married. The Maiden briefly appears at the end of Chapter 11 and, despite not being a playable character herself, she is still listed as Chrom's partner in his status screen. Unlike the other potential mothers, she does not appear when Lucina reveals herself at the end ofChapter 13, though she is referenced.
In terms of gameplay, she is considered the worst potential mother for Lucina, as she passes down no classes, skills or growth rates; although she does provide the second highestdefense cap afterRobin, as the other potential mothers for Lucina have negative defense modifiers.
Trivia
- According toLissa, Chrom and the Maiden were strangers until two years prior to the time skip, suggesting he first met her either not long after defeatingGangrel or not long before discoveringRobin.
