Lilith (Japanese:リリスLilith) is a character inFire Emblem Fates. She is a dragon that allies withCorrin. There is more to her than meets the eye, however.

Fire Emblem Fates

Role

Lilith is a non-playable character. Her main role as a unit is as an assistant in defending the player'scastle.

In theFatesHidden TruthsDLC it is revealed that Lilith is the daughter ofAnankos. She never reveals her relation to Corrin in the main game, pledging to keep it a secret when she "betrays" Anankos. Her motives behind siding with Corrin stem from meeting a still sane part of Anankos and wishing to fulfill his wishes.

Despite her quite intriguing origins she has relatively minimal impact on the story, with her main role being to introduce the My Castle mechanic, though that is not to say she does not have a story presence at all. While she appears as a human in the first several chapters ofFates, Lilith uses up a tremendous amount of energy to revert to her true dragon form while saving Corrin from falling into the Bottomless Canyon, though the change back is permanent.

Birthright

InBirthrightChapter 24, Lilith is killed defendingCorrin from a blow fromHans. Lilith reverts to her human form to speak her final words to Corrin before dying. After this she still serves as a guard of the player's my castle, but instead of being fed, food is offered at her grave, and she appears as a phantom-her map sprite being a wisp of fire-in battle.

Conquest

InConquest, Lilith makes a minor appearance in the beginning ofChapter 7, she accompanies Corrin through the Woods of the Forlorn, with her only dialogue being an "Ehem" when Corrin mentions disliking having to travel through a frightening forest alone. Lilith flees to the castle when theFaceless enemies of the chapter attack.

Her only other story appearance is much later, Lilith is killed by a Faceless inChapter 21. As inBirthright, Lilith reverts to her human form to speak her final words to Corrin before dying. After her death she still serves as a guard of the player's my castle, but instead of being fed, food is offered at her grave, and she appears as a phantom-her map sprite being a wisp of fire-in battle. At thevery end of the Nohr path Lilith appears, for a short time, alongside the deceasedRyoma,Mikoto, andTakumi, encouraging Corrin to defeat the now-possessed body of Takumi.

Revelation

Contrary to the other two paths, Lilith has no story presence whatsoever after Corrin's choice to side with neither nation. She survives to the game's conclusion unharmed.

Starting stats

Lilith gains one full level each time she's fed. Different food items can grant greater chances on a particular stat when she gains a level. Once Lilith reaches a particular plateau for a stat based on the tier of her temple (augmentable by a certain object type), she will no longer gain in that stat until her shrine is upgraded to the next tier.

Lilith is not a playable character and acts as an NPC unit in My Castle battles.

The first two tiers of Lilith's Temple impose specific lower caps on Lilith's stats; the only way to raise these caps are to upgrade the temple or construct level threecharacter statues, which affect Lilith regardless of the tier of her temple. Role

There are two different variations of Lilith available toHeroes, both based on her storyline appearance inFates. The normal variation of Lilith is one of the characters added to the game in theDreaming Reality update, and became available for summoning by players on April 8, 2020. A fallen variation of Lilith, based on her appearance in theHidden Truths DLC, was first made available to players on May 10, 2022 as part of the summoning event surrounding the launch of theTo Be Emperor update.

Lilith is caring and considerate, and she can even communicate with animals. However, she was keeping a very big secret…	She actually came from the hidden Kingdom of Valla, architects of the war between Hoshido and Nohr, and she had a deeper connection to Corrin than first suspected!	After learning of their true relationship, Lilith swore on her life that she would be Corrin’s protector—and she will keep this vow until her dying breath.

To this Lilith, the word of Anankos is absolute, and she’ll wreak havoc on anyone who defies him—even if they’re people who share invisible yet precious bonds with her.	In fact, she’ll even willingly sacrifice herself for Anankos. I really do wish Lilith would look out for herself a bit more…

Trivia

• Lilith's hair kerchief is available as an accessory inMy Castle.
• Lilith's human portrait shows that she has a light-blue hair color, but at the end of the braid turning a reddish-brown. Lilith's dragon portrait also shows this happening with her tail.
• Despite being the daughter ofAnankos, Lilith does not have the ability to useDragon Veins.
  • This may be due to the fact that she's the daughter of the insane half of Anankos, who himself also lacks the ability to trigger Dragon Veins.
• In the bookThe Making of Fire Emblem – 25th Anniversary Development Secrets, Awakening and Fates, it's revealed that in an earlier draft ofBirthright Chapter 15, Hinoka's role in the chapter was initially given to Lilith.^[2]
