TheIron Blade (Japanese:鉄の大剣Iron Greatsword) is an uncommonsword which was introduced inFire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War. It is the first and weakest member of the blade family of weapons, a series of large, heavy swords which trade the reliability of ordinary swords for sheer power. Compared to its ordinary sword counterpart, theIron Sword, the Iron Blade typically has improvedmight in exchange for significantly higherweight, worseaccuracy and lowerdurability. As a result, while the Iron Blade very powerful by the standards of iron weapons, units lacking in theirspeed orconstitution stats are greatly slowed down by it and have theiravoid and chance of being able tofollow-up attack crippled by its weight.
