The Rising Darkness

Heroic Bloodlines is the eleventh chapter ofFire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes on the Scarlet Blaze route. In addition to its main mission, this chapter consists of six side missions.

Plot

As the Empire encroaches on Kingdom land,Dimitri rallies the remaining western lords to mount one final defense against the Empire.Annette takes upCrusher in the Kingdom's name. As the Alliance continues to hold the line in the east, the Empire marches northeast towards Fhirdiad. Meanwhile,Ferdinand learns fromHubert thathis father is still missing and hopes that the former Duke can find some measure of redemption, to Hubert's skepticism.

Imperial forces besiege the Kingdom outpost where Dominic forces are holed up.Baron Dominic,Gustave, and the remaining loyalist western lords are all slain, while Annette can either die or escape. In the aftermath,Edelgard laments how Baron Dominic's life was defined by his bloodline and renews her determination to overthrow the Church.Shez is inspired by Edelgard's resolve and also vows to continue the fight. With the western half ofFaerghus under Imperial control, Edelgard is ready to besiege Blaiddyd territory at long last. However, a messenger informs the group that riots have broken out in Hrym and Ordelia.

Strategy

This section details unofficial strategies that may help with completion of the chapter. This may not work for everybody.

On higher difficulties, this chapter's main mission is one of the harder missions to S rank, and as a result, preparing ahead to deal with key targets is recommended to obtain the S Rank.

It initially tasks the player to seize all enemy strongholds. It is recommended to split up your army to deal with them quickly. Once all four strongholds have been seized, the main gate will open andGustave will appear. As Gustave has highHP anddefense and has to be defeated twice, units who can target his much lowerresistance are very potent against him and can save you a lot of time. Alternatively, armor effective weapons such as theHammer orcombat arts such asHelm Splitter can help with dealing with him.

Once Gustave has retreated for the first time, a group of kingdom nobles will appear to intercept the player's army. Note that they will head for your main base, and the base's fall triggers an immediateGame Over. If you are not confident in your ability to quickly deal with all of them, it is a good idea to send some of your allies to reinforce these strongholds. Otherwise, split up your army to deal with them quickly. As you defeat more enemies, the enemies will gradually launch more attempts to interfere with you. After the first kingdom noble has fallen, the ballista stations will activate and fire at you. As they will keep attacking until both strongholds are seized, taking them out should be one of your top priorities. Once three of the kingdom nobles have fallen, two messengers will appear. They will head for the south of the map to call for reinforcements, and should thus be taken care of quickly. TheRally the Reserves strategy can assist with this, as it will summon reinforcements on the player's side that will intercept the messengers.

Once all kingdom nobles have been defeated, Gustave will appear again. Normally, you will be tasked to defeat him once more, andAnnette will appear to avenge him once he is killed. If theBackdoor Intel strategy is used, you will be given the option to instead use a secret passage to the dungeon. There, you will immediately have to fight Annette, but once she is defeated, Gustave will appear and allow her to escape. From there, Gustave will have to be killed. From a story perspective, this will allow the player to spare Annette (but not recruit her). Regardless of whether she lives or dies, the player will receive the relic axeCrusher. While it cannot be used to its fullest potential by any of the player's units without the use ofNew Game+, it can still fill a nieche as a strongerBolt Axe. Note that if Crusher has been obtained before through New Game+, there are no additional benefits to killing Annette.

Regardless of this choice, the final opponent during the mission will beBaron Dominic. He boasts high HP, defense, and resistance, but as he is aPaladin, he is weak to cavalry-effective weapons such as theHorseslayer, or effective combat arts and spells such asDark Spikes T.
