Helbindi (Japanese:ヘルビンディHelbindi) is a general ofMúspell, and an antagonistic character in Book II ofFire Emblem Heroes.

Helbindi first appears inBook II, Chapter 9: Part 1, where he meets up with theOrder of Heroes as they cross intoMúspell, but is eventually forced to retreat to the Fortress of Cinders, wherein he starts attempting to torture the captiveYlgr only to be forced into showing his sensitive side and stop Ylgr from starving herself to death. He reappears inPart 5, where he attempts to have Ylgr transported to the castle onSurtr's orders; when he attempts to turn Ylgr over to one of his underlings, he explains that he can't stay with her himself as his own situation appears dire, and later gets his sensitive side exposed when Ylgr deduces that Helbindi's trying to protect his sister. He goes on to challenge the Order of Heroes and finds himself defeated, but not before he mentions that someone by the name of Menja, who is implied to be his younger sister, needs him.

He later appears at the end ofBook II, Chapter 11: Part 2. He does not want to accompanyLaegjarn andLaevatein in chasing down theOrder of Heroes, saying he owes them nothing, but he is blackmailed by Laegjarn into continuing to help Múspell. Laegjarn says that ifSurtr finds out that Helbindi failed before, he will be killed, and if Loki finds out, she will threaten to tell Surtr, and then work him to death, but if he succeeds now, he will live and be able to help his sister. He meets up with the Order of Heroes inPart 3, and attacks them, but he is defeated.

He next appears duringBook II, Chapter 12: Part 3, where he loses in battle to the Order of Heroes once again. In the aftermath, Laegjarn appears and informs him that as punishment for his initial failure, Surtr burned down the slums and killed everyone living there, including his sister, to make an example of him.

Helbindi makes his last appearance inBook II, Chapter 13: Part 3. He breaks Ylgr andVeronica out of imprisonment and rescues them, and sacrifices himself to save them in a last stand against Surtr.

There are two different playable variations of Helbindi available toHeroes, both of which are tied to his storyline appearance inHeroes. The normal variation of Helbindi had information as a playable unit added in theA Way Home update, and became available for summoning by players on September 21, 2018. A summer-themed variation of Helbindi was made available between the period of June 20, 2019 through August 9, 2019 as part of the summoning event surrounding theSummer Returns update.

Helbindi: Savage Scourge
Helbindi is a general of Múspell, the Kingdom of Flame. He has an intimidating appearance and a reputation for cruelty and violence.	Helbindi was born in the slums, but he rose to prominence thanks to his efforts in Múspell's invasion of Nifl, the Kingdom of Ice.	To him, there's nothing more important than victory—and it seems that might have something to do with his sister back in the slums.	Helbindi knows that if he falls in battle, his family will be left with no one to fend for them. So while he may seem frightening at first, I guess there's a thoughtful big brother lurking underneath the surface!

Hot stuff, coming through! It's the middle of summer here in Askr, and Helbindi's come from Múspell to turn up the heat!	When we last fought the fearsome general, he was carrying an equally fearsome weapon, but this time he's showing up with a little something special for summer instead!	I have to say, I'm seeing a new side to him. He's positively glowing in the summer sun, and he looks a whole lot less…tense than usual.	He's barely even breaking a sweat—I guess when it comes to fun in the sun, he's in his element!
