Chrom and theShepherds arrive in anOutrealm in the midst of a harvest festival. One of the villagers—a version ofVincent—explains the festival to the Shepherds, who consider celebrating; however,Victor arrives and informs them thatRisen are attacking the village. Chrom volunteers to fend them off; he is ignored by Vincent and Victor, who flee, but he resolves to fight the Risen anyway.

After the battle, Vincent and Victor emerge, realize the Shepherds are soldiers, and thank them for defeating the Risen. Chrom reflects on the peace in the village, and hopes to host a similar festival inYlisse once peace is established.

Strategy

This section details unofficial strategies that may help with completion of the chapter. This may not work for everybody.

In this xenologue, you face off against Risen Revenants who possess a pair of skills to make a challenge. They all come withMiracle and 50Luck to grant them half a chance to survive otherwise fatal attacks. Note that there are some Revenants who come with Counter, meaning your units are in danger should they end up in a fight with one: a otherwise fatal attack can activate Miracle and return the fatal blow. The Revenants who possess Vengeance can be troublesome if their victim is incapable of counterattacking, as any health those enemies have lost can be added to their attack power.

Scattered around the map are chokepoints, these can be used to attack incoming foes from two to three tiles away and avoid the Counter skill. Having an unarmed high-Defense unit defend an Archer or mage in this manner can be effective unless the weapon runs out of uses. Archers are somewhat useful in this xenologue as they cannot counter adjacent enemies and thus safe from the Counter, though if they have low Defense they may end up being less reliable.

Trivia

  • This is the only DLC chapter released on the same day in both North America and Europe.
    • This chapter's announcement as one of the first DLC chapter releases for the PAL regions was the first sign that the two-series concept officially used in Japan (and unofficially used in North America based on release timeframes) was to not apply in the PAL regions.
  • The PAL regions release of this chapter censors the conversation betweenNowi andTharja. The uncensored Japanese and North American conversation centers mainly around Tharja's breasts, whereas the censored PAL region conversation instead centers mainly around Tharja's hair.
  • Despite being given a one-star difficulty rating compared to the two-star ratings of the other Scramble Pack chapters, Harvest Scramble is widely believed to be the hardest map in the Scramble Pack. This stems from enemies potentially having a combination of theMiracle andCounter skills combined with every enemy having 50Luck.
    • The early release of this chapter in the PAL regions, along with the other chapters in the Scramble Pack, was initially believed to be based around the chapters' low difficulty settings. This belief was later disproven when the high-difficultyRogues & Redeemers andThe Future Past chapters saw their PAL region releases before the easierLost Bloodlines andSmash Brethren maps.
  • Despite the chapter's enemies beingRisenRevenants andEntombed, they are never once referred to as Risen in any part of the chapter that isn't the character name listings or an optional conversation. This makes this chapter one of four inAwakening to include generic Risen that do not refer to the Risen as such in dialogue, the others beingchapter 1,paralogue 16, andEXPonential Growth.
