TheHammer (Japanese:ハンマーHammer) is anaxe-type weapon which was introduced inFire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light and has appeared in every game except one sinceThracia 776 (skipping onlyEchoes: Shadows of Valentia). It is a heavy polearm designed to fight heavily armored units, and isvery effective againstKnights,Generals and similar classes. However, in games with weaponweight it is also very heavy even compared to other axes,slowing down its wielder, and itsaccuracy is poor.
