Halberdier

TheHalberdier (Japanese:ハルバーディアHalberdier) is anadvanced infantry class introduced inFire Emblem: Path of Radiance, later appearing inRadiant Dawn andEngage. It is thepromoted class forSoldiers, and like its base form continues to exclusively wieldlances. InRadiant Dawn, Halberdiers can promote again to theSentinel class. InEngage, the Halberdier instead promotes from theLance Fighter.
Like the Soldier as depicted in the Tellius duology, the Halberdier is roughly a lance counterpart forSwordmasters,Snipers andWarriors. In comparison to these classes, Halberdiers lean more toward performing a bulky offensive role, sporting above-averagedefense and greatstrength in exchange for below-averagespeed compared to their counterparts. They have a strong front-line presence with their combination of decent power and durability, avoiding the frailty of Swordmasters or the sluggishness and lowmovement ofGenerals.
