Gra

TheKingdom of Gra (Japanese:グラGra) was a small island nation of theArchanea continent, situated in the west betweenKhadein on the mainland to the north andDolhr on the large landmass to the south, and neighboring the similarly-sizedAltea to the west. The nation was relatively young, existing only for 70 years.
History
Gra was formed in the year 537. Originally part of the territory of Altea, an inheritance dispute following the death of Altea's KingAnri caused a schism in the nobility of Altea; the ascension of Anri's brotherMarcelus prompted a faction of Altean nobles dissatisfied with Marcelus to secede from Altea, establishing Gra on the eastern of the two islands of Altea. Despite the circumstances of its formation, Gra remained a close ally of Altea throughout much of its existence.
When theWar of Shadows came, the armies of Altea and Gra gathered at Fort Menedy, on the land-bridges between Gra and the Archanean mainland, to combat the encroaching forces ofGrust; meanwhile, while Altea's army was off to war, Gra maintained a garrison protecting Altea. However, in the midst of battle, Gra's KingJiol betrayed Altea, and the surprise attack from Gra combined with the offensive from Grust overwhelmed and destroyed the Altean army. From there, Gra led the offensive in conquering Altea Castle and pursuingMarth, Altea's fleeing prince. For the rest of the War of Shadows, Gra played only a minor role in events, apparently considered unimportant by the countries in alliance withDolhr, and eventually fell to the united Archanean League army under the command of Marth.
Afterward, the remains of Gra were entrusted toSheena, daughter of the late Jiol. During theWar of Heroes, EmperorHardin pressured Sheena into allying with Archanea, and so effectively controlled the country by virtue of his far more powerful soldiers outnumbering the young and weak remnants of Gra's army. When Marth returned to Gra late in the war, he avoided attacking the fledgling Gra soldiers while eliminating the Archanean occupation, earning Sheena's trust and prompting her to restore the country's alliance with Altea. In the aftermath of the war, Sheena entrusted the country to Marth, and so it became part of the Unified Kingdom of Archanea under Marth's rule.
