Biography

Ancient Archanea

Gotoh was a member of the once greatNaga clan during the golden age for dragons.[1] When that great era was threatened by degeneration, various dragons sealed their dragon forms into adragonstone and took on ahuman form to preserve their sanity, Gotoh included. Meanwhile, the dragons who refused to become human lost their way and brought destruction upon the then smaller human society inArchanea.[2][3] Gotoh and his fellow divine dragons fought under their king,Naga, to fend off the wild dragons in what would be known as theBattle of the Guardian Deity Naga. The divine dragons won,[4] with the cost of them nearly going extinct; Gotoh was one of the few survivors of Naga's clan. After the war, Gotoh had discarded his dragonstone, so he may never take on his dragon form again.[5]

Humanity's ascension and the War of Liberation

Gotoh went on a search for theBinding Shield, which was displayed at theFane of Raman, before athief infiltrated the fane and ran off with it.[6] In Gotoh's search for the shield, he only ever came across the five spheres once encrusted upon and placed them back in the fane.[7]

One-thousand, two-hundred and thirty-three years after the Guardian God Naga's War, theWar of Liberation had broken out across Archanea; now more human-developed.[8] It was waged by the Shadow Dragon,Medeus, he lead the manaketes ofDolhr and attacked theHoly Kingdom of Archanea.[9] To help humanity, Gotoh appeared before the mere provincial city ofAltea; which was currently threatened by Medeus. Once there, he tells the citizens of Altea of a sword blessed byGod: the divine bladeFalchion. It is a weapon that was capable of destroying the Shadow Dragon. He proposed that someone travel the great and traitorous journey through theLand of God to reach theIce Dragon Temple and receive it.[10]Anri treads the path and arrived at the temple;[11] Gotoh met with Anri there and gifted him the divine blade Falchion.[12]

Founding of Khadein

Gotoh introducing magic at Khadein.

Supposedly after the War of Liberation, Gotoh began to introducemagic—powerful technology of the dragons—to the human world of Archanea. He convinced humans that magic harnessed the power of theancient deities that humanity once greatly worshipped in Archanea to ease them into the dangerous concept. Gotoh also limited notably more dangerous spells such asExcalibur orHammerne even more by placing a contract system on them: making it so an agreement between others is required for inheritance. This uprising of the ancient deities went noticed by the current King of the Archanea, who in response had an academy built at thePalace capital—known as thePalace Magic Palace—and approached Gotoh, wishing for him to lead the academy. However, Gotoh had refused the offer; so instead, the King sent multiple noble children to train in clergy at theKhadein College Arcane,[13] an academy of magic Gotoh established in year 550 of the Archanean Calendar.[8][14]

Under Gotoh's tutelage at Khadein, his best students wereMiloah andGharnef. Gotoh later on was looking for one to succeed him as Khadein's archmage. With Gharenf's antipathy troubling him, Gotoh ultimately chose for Miloah to succeed him as Khadein's archmage and gifted him theAura tome.[15] However, this action did not go as planned: Gharenf stole Gotoh'sDarksphere and forged the forbidden tomeImhullu out of anger and stormed off,[16][17] while Miloah did not take on Gotoh's position and returned to Archanea where he led the Palace Magic Palace academy instead.[18][19] Likely because of the actions of his two great disciples, and with magic now also being traded and used for warring, Gotoh had found himself disappointed in humanity; vowing to let the world proceed without him.

Presumably before Gotoh's departure from Khadein, he had also trainedElice to become a cleric[20] and provided her theAum staff.[21][a]

War of Shadows

For a majority of theWar of Shadows, Gotoh had followed through on his separation from the human realm. That was untilMarth'sfailed quest at Khadein to retrieve Falchion from Gharnef. Gotoh appeared before Marth as an illusion, and tasked Marth to head to the Fane of Raman to obtain theStarsphere andLightsphere so that he could forge the tomeStarlight to pierce imhullu's dark veil on Gharnef.[22]

After Marth obtained the two spheres, Gotoh tasked Marth to visit him at a village he had been residing atMacedon, also telling him that Gharnef is holding his sister at theTower of Thabes, Elice,[23] and that he's been protecting her from Gharnef with his power but is approaching his limit.[24][b] Before meeting with Marth,Michalis approached Gotoh's village and warns him of the coming battle; Gotoh tries to convince Michalis into seeing the error of his ways for siding with Gharnef, but Michalis was ultimately not swayed and leaves.[25] After that episode, Marth approached Gotoh's village and hands over the two spheres; Gotoh then created the Starlight tome and gave it to Marth,[c] two then sending him away to the Tower of Thabes upon him seizing theMacedon Aerie with hiswarp magic.[26]

Upon thwarting Gharnef and rescuing Elice, Gotoh and Marth head for Dolhr Keep to vanquish Medeus and end the war. Inside the Keep, Gotoh meets with Marth, telling him about how he once vowed to abandon humanity for their foolish ways and let the move move without his interference, but with the efforts of Marth and his allies, his hope in humanity was reignited,[27] and he joins in Marth's fight to aid him in defeating those who served Medeus in thefinal battle of the war.[28][d]

After the war ended, Gotoh sent Tiki, who was one of Marth's allies during the war, back to her slumber at the Ice Dragon Temple.[29][30]

War of Heroes

After the creation of the Starlight tome, the Starsphere shattered into twelve pieces called theAstral Shards.[31] Concerned for the world's well-being,[32] he commissioned forWendell, Khadein's recently appointed archmage, to set out on a journey to throughout the world collect the shards and aid him in repairing the Starsphere.[33] Eventually, this holy mission was brought to Marth's attention, and soon Marth would seek Gotoh out at Khadein Temple.[34] Gotoh appeared and told Marth about the five sacred spheres and the toll that the Darksphere had onHardin: changing him and enhancing his negative emotions. He sends Marth on a mission through Anri's Way meet him at the Ice Dragon Temple to receive the Lightsphere that can counter the Darksphere and possibly save Hardin, should heart not be complete corrupted and his will be strong enough.[35]

Marth succeeded passing Anri's Way and approached Gotoh at the temple. As promised, Marth is given the Lightsphere and Starsphere from Gotoh.[36][e] There, he also tells Marth the truth of the Fire Emblem, that of which he had recently realized the truth as well: he reveals it to be the Binding Shield of legend, telling Marth that it was stolen by Archanea's First King from the Fane of Raman, making the shield a symbol of House Archanea and selling the five spheres to fund an army for theHoly War.[37][f] With the shield broken, the earth dragons buried under Macedon were soon to rise once again after six-hundred years. Gotoh now tasks Marth with restoring the Binding Shield to put a stop to the world going to ruin; entrusting Marth with Tiki to save her from ruin as well.[38]

Gotoh sends Marth back to Altea, while he investigates the revival of Gharnef.[39] He meets with Marth again after Marth reclaimed Altea from Archanea, telling him that Elice was kidnapped by Gharnef. His investigation taught him that Gharnef was sending hisdark bishops to collect women of noble blood. He bets Gharnef's next target wasNyna at the Millennium Court;[40] which was proven as Nyna was no longer at the Palace when Marth got there.[41] After Marth seized the Palace and restored the Binding Shield, Gotoh sends his army to the Dragon Altar to put a stop to the earth dragons' awakening.[42] There he had an epiphany, finally realizing the role Gharnef has for the noble clerics: to sacrifice them for Medeus to ascend in the form of aShadow Dragon. Upon this realization, he stresses for Marth to make haste for the altar's pinnacle to save the clerics.[43]

Gotoh's last known appearance has him congratulating Marth in saving humanity and the dragonkin after Medeus' final demise.[44] If Marth's fiancée,Caeda, were to pass on during theWar of Heroes, Gotoh then expresses sympathy for Marth and his grave loss.[45]

Legacy

Gotoh is commonly given the title of "White Sage" (Japanese:大賢者Great Sage).[g] He is also commonly viewed as a deity of sorts to humanity according to Wendell.[46][47] Some also speculate that Gotoh has lived for hundreds of years with the idea that Khadein's founding occurred before year 550.[48]

InShadow Dragon & the Blade of Light andShadow Dragon, Gotoh's character ending which states Nyna appointed him as Archanea's archmage where many approached him for his great teachings. The timing of this new position is not specified, nor brought up during the War of Heroes, making it possible this refers to after said war.[49]

Analysis

This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience.

Gotoh is an excellent pre-promoted bishop, with a solid inventory oftomes, a high enoughweapon level to use every tome andstaff in the game, and amazing stats in many important categories, namelyskill, speed, anddefense; he is also the only unit with a non-zeroresistance stat. Unfortunately, you don't get the opportunity to take advantage of this for most of the game, as Gotoh doesn't become playable untilthe final chapter of the game; since he is automatically deployed in Chapter 25, you might as well take advantage of him once you have him.

Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem

Book 1

Role

As inShadow Dragon & the Blade of Light, Gotoh first appears toMarth after hisfailed quest to retrieveFalchion fromGharnef, revealing Gharnef'sweakness to Marth and telling him how to obtain it. If Marth can bring Starlight's ingredients to Gotoh, he will assemble Starlight; Gotoh will eventually transport Marth to where Gharnef lies. Unlike inShadow Dragon & the Blade of Light, Gotoh will not join Marth's party as a playable character.

Book 2

Role

Gotoh first appears to Marth inKhadein to tell him aboutHardin's sudden change, revealingthe cause and how toovercome it; he then tells Marth to visit him at the Ice Dragon Shrine. Once Marth makes it there, Gotoh asks Marth to hand over all of theStar Shards the party has collected. If all twelve Star Shards have been successfully collected, he will restore them into theStarsphere and tasks Marth into restoring theBinding Shield, allowing him access toTiki in the process; if even one Star Shard is lost, Gotoh will take the shards the party has but not allow access to Tiki. Gotoh then warps the party away toAltea soon afterward, later warning Marth ofGharnef's return as well as his plan for the kidnappedclerics.

Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon

Gotoh will eventually transport Marth to where Gharnef lies. Should the player have kept eitherTiki or Falchion intact, Gotoh will ultimately join Marth's side for the final battle againstMedeus as inShadow Dragon & the Blade of Light; should the player have lost both Tiki and Falchion, Gotoh will instead send Marth's party to anintermediate destination to acquirealternate means of taking on Medeus and will not join Marth's side for the final battle.

Gotoh joins the party at the start of Turn 1 in the Endgame, after the conclusion of thepreparations phase. Thus, the only time Gotoh can make use ofreclassing is in the multiplayer mode, using a cleared file, and thus too late to level up and make use of any alternate growth rates; however, he does indeed still have growth rates for his alternate classes, and thus has these as hisunused alternate growth rates.

Trivia

  • Gotoh is the only character fromShadow Dragon & the Blade of Light who was cut from a playable role in Book 1 ofMystery of the Emblem to still appear in that book as anNPC character.
  • InTearRing Saga: Yutona Heroes War Chronicles, there is a backstory character namedMorse who is very similar to Gotoh.
  • Being playable for only one chapter, Gotoh has the worst availability in the Archanea series and ties withAthos andLehran for the worst availability in the franchise, if one does not count thefirst andsecond parts ofThe Blazing Blade's final chapter as separate chapters.
  • Whilse Gotoh refers toNaga as the "Divine Dragon King" (神竜王) in the Japanese version ofFire Emblem Heroes, the English version translates this term as simply "Divine Dragon". This makes little sense for Gotoh to use as a title for Naga, as he himself is also adivine dragon.

Notes

  1. It is suggested Elice was not given Aum by Gotoh inShadow Dragon, with her no longer mentioning him giving it to her and it appearing inside a chest at Dolhr's Resurrectory instead.
  2. Gotoh mentioning him protecting Elice was omitted inShadow Dragon.
  3. Gotoh does not craft Starlight if Marth lacks both the spheres. If that is the case, Gotoh will suggest other methods of slaying Medeus: such as using the three regalia. Lastly, he'll take any of the two spheres if Marth presents any.
  4. Only inShadow Dragon & the Blade of Light andShadow Dragon, as Gotoh is not playable inMystery of the Emblem.
  5. If Marth fails to provide all twelve Astral Shards, Gotoh will only provide the Lightsphere. He also do not provide Tiki to Marth if this happens.
  6. Gotoh telling Marth the information regarding the truth of the Fire Emblem and Adrah I was removed inNew Mystery of the Emblem.
  7. "White Sage" is not commonly used in Japanese; it can be found in Japanese versions of theAn Oasis of Magic chapter. The English localization ofShadow Dragon made White Sage his universal title.

But, from nowhere, the day of ruin came. First they could not give birth anymore and then they lost their minds, becoming wild beasts that destroyed everything in their path. The elders said the dragon tribe was reaching its last days. We had no choice, except to abandon our identities as dragons and live on as humans. The dragon tribe panicked. Those who trusted the elders sealed their dragon form inside stone and assumed human form. But there were some who could not abandon their pride as dragons and did not become human. 22. "Can you hear me, Prince Marth? I am the sage Gotoh. Through magic, I have reached out to you. Gharnef is too much for you. Listen to me if you want to defeat him! Gharnef and Miloah were both my students. But Gharnef stole Imhullu from me and disappeared. I believe he has Falchion as well… With both Falchion and Imhullu, he fears nothing, not even Dolhr. He aims to rule the world! As long as he wields Imhullu, he cannot be challenged. However, there is one way to defeat him. Bring me the Lightsphere and the Starsphere. If you can do this, I will grant you the one and only spell that can defeat him, Starlight!" —Gotoh, during the end ofChapter 15,Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light
  23. "Gotoh:You will find me in a village north of the Macedonian aerie, their castle. If you possess the Lightsphere and Starsphere, have them in hand when you visit me here. ...Ah, yes. I also have good news. Your sister, Elice, is unharmed.
Marth: What?! You are certain? Where is she now?
Gotoh:Thabes, city of illusion. Gharnef took her with him when he fled. I pray you rescue her soon.
" —Gotoh andMarth, during the end ofChapter 21,Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon
  24. "Gharnef has escaped to the illusion city of Thabes. Your sister, Elice, should also be there. I have been protecting her with my power, but I won't be able to hold out for much longer. Please hurry and rescue Elice." —Gotoh, during the end ofChapter 15,Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem
  25. "Michalis: Lord Gotoh, the League has begun its attack. I wish for you to move someplace safe until the fighting has ended.
Gotoh: Why not just end this folly now, Michalis?
    Michalis: Folly? What folly?
Gotoh: You loved your younger sister so much. It pains me to see you quarrel. If you and Minerva had worked as one, Macedon might have become a great kingdom- greater even than Archanea, perhaps. But instead, you let Gharnef trick you into destroying your family, and your kingdom with it.
Michalis: ...I cannot undo what is done. My father's blood will always be on my hands, just as Minerva's betrayal of her brother and country will be on hers. And Macedon has not been destroyed, not yet. So long as I carry Iote's Shield, the League's arrows cannot fell me.
Gotoh: Very well. And if you win? What then?
Michalis: If I win, I will tell you. Right now, my only goal is to gut that Altean prince who leads the League. My pride as Macedonian king rests upon it.
Gotoh: I see... Then we've nothing more to discuss, have we?
    (Michalis leaves)
Gotoh: The weight of his father's murder threatens to crush him...Poor boy. ...Poor fool.
" —Gotoh andMichalis, during the start ofChapter 22,Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon
  26. "With the aid of the White Sage Gotoh's powerful Warp magic, Marth and company were transported to the faraway city of Thabes." — Narration, during the introduction toChapter 23,Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon
  27. "Marth. You truly are a hero for being able to reach here. In the past I used to hate these stupid humans, and so I cut off communications with them. However, after seeing you, I have now realized that humans aren't a lost hope. Go forth! The deities' chosen one, Altea's Prince of Light. Send the Dark Earth Dragon, Medeus, back to the eternal darkness once again!!" —Gotoh, during the start ofChapter 20,Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem
  28. "Marth: You mean you'll fight with us?.
Gotoh: I may lack the power to stop Medeus, but his minions are another story. Let this old man strike them down and clear a path for you.
" —Marth andGotoh, during the start ofChapter 25,Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon
  29. "I made her sleep, because I felt sad for her." —Gotoh, duringChapter 14,Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem
  30. "The bishop told me that I had to sleep again." —Tiki, duringChapter 14,Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem
  31. "In order to dispel Gharnef's dark magic, Gotoh created the holy Starlight magic from the orb. However, at that time it created a powerful shock and the orb broke into 12 fragments, which flew and scattered across the continent." —Wendell, during the end ofChapter 6,Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem
  32. "Gotoh said that this world is protected by the mysterious power of the five orbs. If any one of them was lost, the world will fall into ruin. And right now, the Starsphere has been broken. Therefore, even now the world is decaying." —Wendell, during the end ofChapter 6,Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem
  33. "And also, I already left the magic city, Khadein, in the care of the two youths, Merric and Arlen. I left because I must carry out an important mission given to me by Archsage Gotoh." —Wendell, during the end ofChapter 6,Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem
  34. "Yes... You summoned me? I will share with you my strength. What is it that you wish for?" —Gotoh, during the end ofChapter 10,Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem
  35. "Gotoh: Hmm... I guess I have no choice but to tell you. In this world there exists 5 sacred orbs containing mysterious power. Aside from the Lightsphere, Starsphere and Geosphere that you have seen. There is also the Lifesphere and what is known as the... Darksphere. The Darksphere opposes the Lightsphere, and it can greatly increase the strength of one's mind. It can give its owner courage, release them from suffering, and increase their ambitions and wishes. And, during battles, it can control the enemy's mind as well and prevent them from moving. But the Darksphere is too dangerous for humans to use. It will react with humans' anger, disdain and jealousy causing them to increase tenfold. Eventually it will destroy their soul and turn them into a monster. I don't know how Hardin obtained the Darksphere. But after that... His heart was consumed by darkness.
Marth: How could that... Why...? Hardin shouldn't be such a weak man. He should be happy for being able to marry his beloved Nyna. Why should he be jealous...?
Gotoh: Your highness... Humans aren't simple creatures... But regardless, as long as Hardin has the Darksphere you cannot win. The only thing that can defeat the Darksphere is the Lightsphere. If you want to defeat him, you must come to me to obtain it.
Marth: Huh? Gotoh, really? With the Lightsphere we can save Hardin...?Gotoh: Hmm... If his heart has not been completely consumed, perhaps he can be saved. But that depends on whether Hardin is really as strong-willed as you say...
Marth: Thanks, Gotoh! Please allow me to borrow the Lightsphere.
Gotoh: Hmm, but I have one condition. If you can reach the Ice Dragon Temple, where I am, I will hand over the Lightsphere to you. But that won't be an easy task. There has only been one human that has ever made it here. That's right... The hero Anri. If you, like Anri, are a true hero, I will lend you the orb. Well, Marth. Do you have the courage to challenge Anri's Way?
" —Gotoh andMarth, during the end ofChapter 10,Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem
  36. "Prince Marth, you finally came! I should have expected nothing less from the one who possesses the heroic bloodline of Anri. To reward your courage, I will hand the Lightsphere to you. With this, the Darksphere will lose its power and it will no longer be impossible to fight Hardin. Also, about the Starsphere shards... What!? You found all the shards? Thank you, then the Starsphere can be restored. Please wait a moment..." —Gotoh, duringChapter 14,Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem
  37. "The Emblem shield you're carrying is the stolenBinding Shield. To be honest, it was only recently that I noticed; its exterior had completely changed... After stealing it from the Fane of Raman, the thief removed its jewels and sold them off as treasures. The money was used to fund an army, which, along with three stolen weapons, was used to conquer the world. The thief that went on to become the king of Archanea had the shield, which brought him such good fortune, it became the emblem of his royal family. Now do you understand, Marth? It is what you are carrying, Archanea'sFire Emblem." —Gotoh, duringChapter 14,Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem
  38. "Gotoh:Mmm... But please hurry up. The shield has already been broken for 600 years... It is almost time for the Earth Dragons, sealed underneath Macedon, to awaken from their slumber. Those evil Earth Dragons number several hundreds... No, several thousands. Once they awaken there will be nothing that we can do... I will leave Tiki in your care. You can find her in the room to the right. That Divine Dragon child should be able to help you battle the Earth Dragons. But, I will state clearly, if the Binding Shield is not restored, Tiki will be destroyed.
    Marth: Huh...!? Why is that...
Gotoh: That child is still developing. Without the Shield of Seals she will begin to degenerate. Eventually she will become wild and attack humans. I made her sleep, because I felt sad for her. But, if the Shield of Seals is restored I will no longer have to worry, because the shield will protect Tiki. Marth, please take care of Tiki. You must rescue that child from the path of ruin.
" —Gotoh andMarth, duringChapter 14,Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem
  39. "Gotoh: I will use my magic to send you to Altea instantly.
Marth: Gotoh, aren't you coming along with us?
Gotoh: Oh... I have something to investigate right now. You see, Gharnef has already began to act.
" —Gotoh andMarth, during the end ofChapter 14,Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem
  40. "Gotoh: Your highness, Princess Elice was taken by Gharnef.
Marth: Huh? Gotoh, is that true!?
Gotoh: He ordered the dark priests to search for clerics of noble birth. Lena, Maria... and even your sister Elice. They have all been taken by Gharnef...
Marth: Is that so... But what is he planning on doing by capturing them?
Gotoh: That I don't know, but I bet it's not anything good. The chain of events so far was all the doing of Gharnef.
Marth: Gotoh! Where is he now?
Gotoh: I don't know, but I bet Gharnef's next target will be Princess Nyna. So he is probably at Millennium Court...
" —Gotoh andMarth, during the end ofChapter 16,Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem
  41. "He also handed Nyna over to Gharnef." —Boah, during the end ofChapter 19,Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem
  42. "Gotoh: Marth, you have done well. You have all five orbs in your possession. Because of your efforts the lostBinding Shield has finally been restored.
Marth: Yes! The five orbs have attached onto the royal shield... So this is the Binding Shield? But, Gotoh, what should I do next? After seeing Gharnef's expression, it seems he really has taken my sister and the others. I can't just leave them.
Gotoh: Mmm... I understand your feelings... But you must first restore the seal on the Earth Dragons. Those beasts will soon awaken from their slumber. When they appear from the ground they will burn everything, and create Hell on Earth. Go, Marth. Send the awakened Earth Dragons back into the darkness of the seal!!
" —Gotoh andMarth, during the end ofChapter 14,Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem
  43. "Prince Marth, I finally understand why the clerics have been taken. Gharnef plans to use them to resurrect Medeus. To awaken a dragon requires the life force of females with pure and noble blood. Gharnef knew about this, so he went to capture the clerics. Mmm... Marth, we must hurry. The clerics are in grave danger. Medeus... He is going to resurrect once again!!" —Gotoh, during the end ofEndgame 1,Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem
  44. "Marth, courageous prince of Altea. Because of your efforts, the Dark Earth Dragon, Medeus, has finally been completely destroyed. Medeus's servants, the Earth Dragons have also vanished into the darkness. As long as the Binding Shield exists, they won't awaken anymore. Marth, descendant of Anri, and the chosen Prince of Light. You have saved mankind, and you have saved our dragon tribe..." —Gotoh, during the end ofEndgame 2, part 3,Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem
  45. "Marth, to you, this victory is also painful. Losing your loved one, and having to live all alone. Marth, I'm sorry... You've saved the future of this world, but have lost your most important thing..." —Gotoh, during the end ofEndgame 2, part 3,Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem
  46. "I bet meeting your highness was also planned by Gotoh. If that is the case, I must follow my fate." —Wendell, during the end ofChapter 6,Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem
  47. "Lord Gotoh is like a deity to all us humans." —Wendell toKris, in their firstBase Conversation,Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem
  48. "Hundreds of years ago, a sage created an academy here, and taught his life's teachings to people. However, originally designed to bring happiness to people, magic was used in conflicts, and was bought and sold in masses. The sage was disappointed, and disappeared without a trace. Although it seems hard to believe, some people say that sage was Archsage Gotoh." — Narration, during the introduction toChapter 9,Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem
