Personality
Gomez is purely motivated by the horrible food situation inThracia; obtaining food through legitimate farming does not provide enough. Tired ofDagdar's andEyvel's attempt at honest farming, he attacks the village near Dagdar's mansion, though he is apologetic for his actions.
August comments that it is likely that Gomez and the other bandits were abandoned as children due to food shortages and that banditry was their only option for survival.[2]

Dunno why they're here, but I need you to keep 'em clear of the manor while I'm inside. Once that's done, you'll get every coin." — Gomez to Rumei inChapter 8,Fire Emblem: Thracia 776
- ↑"South Thracia is a land dominated by mountains - steep, imposing crags dot the landscape, and a cliff lies around every corner. By nature, the land demands severity and discipline from all who live in it. Farmers work themselves to the bone to cultivate what few crops the land will provide, but even so, it is not enough to survive on. And thus they are left with a terrible dilemma: for every one person who gets fed, two others must go hungry. Dagdar's men, abandoned in their youth, are the result of this ruthless arithmetic. This is the reality of living in South Thracia." — August to Leif at the end ofChapter 8x,Fire Emblem: Thracia 776
