Gold Knight

TheGold Knight (Japanese:ゴールドナイトGold Knight) is an advanced cavalryclass which was introduced inFire Emblem Gaiden. They are a rarethird-tier promoted class and the final stage inclass change lines for some cavalry classes which variousPaladin variants promote to. InGaiden and its remake,Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, they wield onlylances, and inRadiant Dawn they wield bothswords andaxes while a counterpart class, theSilver Knight, wields lances instead as well asbows.
Gold Knights are, like their Paladin predecessors, defined by being well-balanced with decent stats all around. Their offensive prowess, durability and agility are all high if not outstanding, and theirresistance is somewhat superior to that of most physically-inclined classes. As a mounted class, their most outstanding feature is their highmovement which allows them to cross battlefields at a much greater rate than infantry, although in return they, like all cavalry, are significantly more hindered byterrain penalties.
InGaiden andShadows of Valentia, the Gold Knight is the final stage in theCavalier's class change line, promoting fromPaladins; additionally,Villagers have the ability to promote to Cavalier and eventually become Gold Knights as well. InRadiant Dawn, the Gold Knight is the final class forSword Knights andAxe Knights, with bothBlade Paladins andAxe Paladins promoting to Gold Knight.
