Gamble (Japanese:一発屋Gamble) is a combatskill which debuted inFire Emblem: Path of Radiance. It boosts a units'scritical hit rate when it is active, in exchange for lowering theiraccuracy. InPath of Radiance andRadiant Dawn in particular it is designed as a risky skill to use with its high increases to the critical rate and steep penalties to hit rate, making it just as likely to make its user completely miss an attack as it is to reward them with a critical hit. Additionally, the skill is activated by command when moving the user in order to have its effect, so an allied unit's Gamble skill cannot be in effect on the enemy phase.Awakening andFates changed the skill to make its stat modifiers much less extreme, and always in effect.

Gamble is present as a skill on one card inFire Emblem Cipher:B03-030HN Red-Hot Knightly Soul, Kieran. It is automatically triggered when a base Kieranchanges class into this card, giving him an enormous +50 attack boost until the end of the turn in which he changed class.
