Fuga
| ||||||||||||||||
|
Fuga (Japanese:フウガFuuga) is a chieftain ofHoshido'sWind Tribe and a good friend of the late KingSumeragi's.
Biography
Birthright
Corrin and the Hoshidan army get into a skirmish during the Eternal Stairway against Wind Tribalists disguised as Faceless byIago. Upon arriving at the Wind Tribe's village, two tribalists approach the group and announce their intentions to attack, after which Corrin explains Iago's deception to which the tribalists do not believe. When Sakura and Azura join in on Corrin's explanation, the tribalists decide to let Fuga make the ultimate decision, to which Corrin states that he/she would like to speak with Fuga, after which the tribalists state that they're going to have to engage in battle. During the battle, Fuga calls out toward the group and Corrin tries to explain what happened, but states that he will only listen to what Corrin has to say if he is defeated in battle.
Once the battle ends, Fuga states that Corrin has proven himself/herself worthy to explain his/her group's plight, first talking about Fuga's friendship withSumeragi and with Corrin's skill with theYato being why Fuga needed to put Corrin to the test; after Fuga explains a bit more about the Yato, he states that he knew Corrin didn't intend to attack innocents along the Eternal Stairway, but needed his forces to challenge Corrin's army anyway in order to prove their worthiness. After a short conversation, as part of a "mutual agreement", he allowsHayato to travel with Corrin.
Conquest
Corrin and the Nohrian army attempt to navigate the Wind Tribe's territory and find themselves constantly rebuffed, after revealing that their village was attacked long ago by Faceless sent there by Nohrian mages. Fuga arrives on the scene, and states that he can see the determination in Corrin's eyes, after which Corrin asks him to introduce himself, to which he introduces himself as the chieftain of the Wind Tribe; Corrin states that he/she had no idea about Fuga's position and introduces himself/herself as a prince/princess of Nohr and asks to request an audience with him, to which Fuga states that he was informed of outsiders at the entrance to the village posing as Nohrian royalty. Fuga states that it must have taken great courage for Nohrian royalty to face him, and states that he will hear what they have to say, but only at his castle Reppu.
After Corrin finishes his/her explanation, Fuga states that he believes Corrin's aim and will allow his/her army to pass through his village just this once and will alert the villagers that the army are welcomed guests who are not to be disturbed, to which Corrin thanks Fuga; the talk about the Yato then resumes and Fuga reveals that he was once close friends with the Hoshidan king Sumeragi many years ago. He also tells them that Sumeragi told him that the Yato would bring peace, but if in the wrong hands, would destroy the world. Fuga then challenges Corrin for a battle, stating that he will take up the Yato if they are unworthy of using it. Upon noticing two more divine weapons, Siegfried and Brynhildr, he states that this will be a truly legendary fight and rounds up his best fighters, including Hayato, to battle them on top of castle Reppu.
After the battle, Fuga states that Corrin and his/her army fought bravely and that Corrin is worthy of wielding the Yato and that the Yato chose its wielder well. He leaves with Hayato to show the Nohrian army the way to the Eternal Stairway.
Revelation
Similar to theBirthright route, Corrin and the group accidentally kill members of the Wind Tribe who appeared to be Faceless due to an illusion. They proceed to deduce that the may have fallen into a trap and that they should head for the Wind Tribe's village to explain what happened. Corrin is confronted by Fuga. who states that word of Corrin's plight has reached him, deducing that he/she has chosen to side with neither Nohr nor Hoshido and instead wishes to destroy both kingdoms, and has chosen to start with the Wind Tribe by attacking his brethren. Corrin attempts to explain that their true goal is to stop an unseen threat, to which Fuga states that he does not believe Corrin's explanation and calls Tribalists to attack Corrin's army, butRinkah suddenly appears and vouches for Corrin's sincerity, prompting Fuga to test Corrin's abilities to see if they are worthy of their character.
Once the battle ends, Corrin apologizes for what happened along the Eternal Stairway to which Fuga accepts, then begins talking about the Yato and Fuga's friendship with Sumeragi, after Fuga explains a bit more about the Yato, he states thatIzana should be even more familiar with the subject of the Yato. Fuga states that he will offer aid to Corrin's army and offers the services of one of his diviners, Hayato.

Analysis
| This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience. |
Fuga is a very strong prepromote, coming with high bases in HP, strength, skill, speed, and defense. His luck and resistance are not as high, but is still pretty good. His worst stat is obviously magic, coming with a base 0. His growths are all pretty bad to make up for his amazing bases, with none of them exceeding 45%. His personal skill,Wind Disciple, grants him an extra ten hit and avoid when not a full HP. The skill not super impactful, but has its use cases to potentially get a guaranteed hit or dodge on enemies when his hit is in the 90s, or when the foes hit is in the 10s. He starts in the great class ofMaster of Arms, which gives him full weapon triangle advantage with having swords/katanas, lances/naginatas, and axes/clubs. He starts with the base class tree ofSamurai, and the promotion of Master of Arms, giving him an innateDuelist's Blow,Vantage, and him being over level 5 gives himSeal Strength. His base B in swords gives immediate access to silver weapons, his C in both lances and axes only gives killer and steel weapons.
Fuga's many strength make him a good contributor in the players army. He is best off staying in his main class for full weapon triangle advantage, and getting the important skill ofLife and Death for an extra ten damage to better reach one-round or one shot thresholds, but the downside is that the enemy also gets an extra ten damage, so the player should keep that in mind. His other class in his main class tree isSwordmaster. Swordmaster gets increases to his growths in skill, speed, luck, resistance, and a worthless increase to his magic growth. Conversely, his HP, strength, and defense growths are reduced. For the extra skills,Astra gives more attacks with having five at half damage, which would do more damage than two attacks at full damage.Swordfaire does five extra damage with swords or katanas, which can be useful with swords being the weakest weapon type.
For reclass options outside of his main class tree,Oni Chieftain andBlacksmith have their own unique attributes, mostly for skills, as all Fuga's promoted classes have six movement, and slightly varying weapons. Both classes in theOni Savage class tree giveSeal Resistance for some debuffs, andShove to be able to push other player units places.Oni Chieftain givesDeath Blow for extra crit when initiating combat, andCounter lets Fuga deal damage back to the enemy if the enemy attacks and deals damage. For growths, Oni Chieftain gives increases to his strength, magic, defense, and resistance growths, but decreases his HP, skill, and luck growths. Blacksmith instead gives increases to skill and defense growths, but decreases his luck growth. For skills,Salvage Blow has a chance to give an iron weapon, which is terrible since he is recruited so late, making this skill very bad when the player will be outfitting their army with stronger weapons.Lancebreaker is an absolutely busted skill that gives a whopping fifty extra hit and avoid against lances regardless of his current weapon type.
His other reclass option is very unfortunate, as his magic is absolutely atrocious.Great Master can have limited use since it lets him use physicalNaginata, but gives worthlessRods. In any ofMonk's promoted classes, they givesMiracle, which is worthless with his amazing bulk, and even withRally Luck being a supportive skill, Fuga should use skills that better increase his combat potential. Great Master givesRenewal for a decent skill that could potentially be worth pursuing, andCountermagic, which deals magical damage attacks back to the foe attacking Fuga. Finally,Rally Magic andTomefaire are not at all worth getting, asOnmyoji is a terrible class for Fuga to pursue due to only using magical weapons, which Fuga does not want to use.
Fuga can only marry Corrin, meaning his only child will beKana, but he is a poor father with his borderline awful growths. This means that he should never be used as a father to Kana unless absolutely necessary, which will not be often. He also can supportHayato, which can be great with pairing up, and giving himRend Heaven fromBasara, and Hayato getting Life and Death from Master of Arms, but Hayato potentially has better A+ support options, and Fuga is okay with all the skills he can get in his main reclass options.
