Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave (Japanese:ファイアーエムブレム 万紫千紅Fire Emblem: A riot of colour) is a turn-based strategy role-playing game for theNintendo Switch 2. It is the eighteenth main installment in theFire Emblem series, and the first for the Nintendo Switch 2 console. It was announced in a Nintendo Direct presentation on September 12, 2025. It is planned to be released in 2026.
Plot
The game's plot appears to be centered around a tournament known as theHeroic Games whose commencement is announced by a certainDivine Sovereign.[2] The setting bears some connection toFódlan, as proven by the presence of theHeroes' Relics,Crests, and an olderSothis.
Gameplay
Fortune's Weave's gameplay appears to be based uponThree Houses's gameplay;combat arts, gambits, andCrests all return fromThree Houses.
A new mechanic known asblaze arts allows units to spend a certain amount ofhealth in order to perform special abilities on the map, in a similar vein to the magic system ofGaiden and its remake,Echoes: Shadows of Valentia.
Performing blaze arts fills in a gauge for that unit, though the purpose of the gauge is currently unknown.

| Japanese | ファイアーエムブレム 万紫千紅 | Fire Emblem: A Riot of Color. This comes from the Chinese idiom "万紫千红", which originates from the poem "Spring Day (春日)" by Zhu Xi (朱熹) of the Song Dynasty: "I easily recognize the face of the east wind, for a riot of color always signifies spring. (等闲识得东风面,万紫千红总是春。)" The literal meaning is "ten thousand purples, a thousand reds," originally describing the brilliant scene of blooming flowers in spring. It later extended to metaphorically represent a diversity of forms and a state of prosperity and flourishing, which is its most common meaning. |
