Fire Breath (Japanese:火のブレスFire Breath) is abreath-type attack introduced inFire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem. InMystery of the Emblem, Fire Breath is used byFire Dragons,Wyverns, andMage Dragons, both on the enemy side and while aManakete is transformed into one of those forms with aFirestone,Wyvernstone, orMagestone.New Mystery of the Emblem has Fire Breath wielded, at least as a distinct item, exclusively by enemy Fire Dragons and Wyverns; it is, however, a variant of the attack usable byManaketes in the form of a Firestone's or Wyvernstone's attack. Fire Breath dealtbonus damage toIce Dragons inMystery of the Emblem, a trait that was not carried over to the remake.

There are two variants of Fire Breath used inNew Mystery of the Emblem. The only difference between the two is the range; one variant is melee-only in the same fashion as theFirestone andWyvernstone, whereas the other has ranged capabilities in line with its originalMystery of the Emblem incarnation.

Fire Breath later reappeared inHeroes andEchoes: Shadows of Valentia, in the latter classified as amonster weapon and possessing an effect that allows it to nullify defenses.
