Fimbulvetr is an antagonist in Book X who is first mentioned by title at the end ofBook IX, Chapter 13: Part 5. Her name and purpose of freezing the lower realms is revealed byRune inChapter 1: Part 1, and she is revealed to have descended uponNifl inChapter 2: Part 1. She initially appears in person and is fought duringChapter 2: Part 5, after which her power forces the Order to retreat. She is shown to finish freezing Nifl inChapter 3, leaving the realm once it is done.
