Analysis
| This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience. |
Fergus joins inChapter 4. His strength primarily revolves around his 5FCM. Fergus's highFCM allows him to reach 100% crit rates on his follow-up attack with 20% crit rates, which he can do via a variety of means, the most straightforward one being equipping aKilling Edge. This is especially useful during the Munster chapters where he can reliably one-round enemy armors with theRapier if Karin is within support range. His high Sword Rank furthers his capabilities, as he can wield the aforementioned Rapier at base and is close to having the rank for theFlame Sword (if it was brought) and theBrave Sword.
His combat prowess becomes less notable after Munster as more units can reliably one-round enemies, but he will remain one of the more useful mounted units due to solid stats and weapon access, which let him capture enemies well. Additionally, free knights andrangers have some of the lowestdismounting penalties in the game as they wieldswords when mounted and dismounted, which will allow Fergus to retain his strengths regardless of whether or not he is fighting indoors. He has poor magic, which hurts his ability to use magic swords and as a result his 1-2 range combat is weak without a magic boost via aPure Water orMagic Up. Magic swords are still his best choice for killing bosses, though he will need significant investment to replicate the anti-boss offense of units like Asbel. Towards the end of the game, the player will acquire theBeo's Sword—a powerful personal weapon with high crit that can only be wielded by Fergus andDiarmuid and grants its wielderVantage andWrath (though the former cancels out the latter) with up to 60 uses.

Fergus, Carefree Free Knight
After the fighting was all over, Fergus vanished almost immediately. Was he an illegitimate son of the legendary knight Beowolf? A long-lost prince of the Connacht royal family? Rumors persist about this mysterious figure, but with Fergus gone, the truth has been lost forever.
