Farina is aPegasus Knight serving in Ilia's 3rd wing. She appears inChapter 25 ofHector's tale, looking to make some money by havingHector hire her for 20,000 gold.
If the player does not hire her—they refuses her offer or lack the funds to pay her—she will remain on the map, where she can be spoken to again; if the player talks to her and does not hire her a second time, she decides that this was a waste of time and leaves, never to be encountered again.

Analysis
| This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience. |
Farina only appears in Hector's Tale and is the last of the three pegasus sisters recruitable during the game. She is the only character that needs to be paid in order to join you (the large price of 20,000 gold), which is problematic during ranked runs, since her recruitment might significantly reduce your funds rank. Otherwise, money shouldn't be a problem around her jointime, and since your gold cannot fight or fly, you shouldn't be afraid to replace it with another flier who can actually contribute to your success in combat.
Aside from her utility as another flier, Farina comes with pretty decent strength, defense and resistance bases for aPegasus Knight, though her HP-stat starts off rather low and her base speed is not very impressive for her jointime, especially since she gets weighed down by most lances. Since she already has A-rank lances, she can most likely still keep up with your trained mounted units when it comes to damage output by using advanced weaponry, and her base level of 12 allows her to promote into aFalcon Knight as soon as you want, further increasing her strength and durability and giving her access to swords as an accurate and light attack option when facing axe users or attacking mages.
While the growth rates of a unit that joins as late as Farina might not be too interesting, Farina possesses great growths in HP and strength, and her other growth rates aren't bad either, though her speed growth can be a bit shaky considering her bases and low constitution. In order to make use of her growth rates to further increase her combat performance, it is possible to let her defeat a majority of theMonk reinforcements during her joining chapter; later on she can gather some more experience by killing enemy fliers and mages. Combined with her possibility to improve quickly by promoting, this allows her to become competitive to your trained mounted units within a short amount of time if you want to.
Usually, two or three fliers are sufficient to beat most late maps without trouble, but chapters likeNight of Farewells,Cog of Destiny orVictory or Death are yet to come, and flying mounted movement as well as access to high rank lances and decent durability are giving Farina an innate advantage over most other units you could possibly deploy during these chapters.
Once Farina is recruited, your Pegasus Knights can initiate theTriangle Attack, which is usually not very handy against generic enemies, but a powerful additional attack option against bosses.
To sum it up, Farina joins with pretty good bases and growth rates for a Pegasus Knight, additionally benefiting from having an amazing lance rank, flying movement and the possibility to instantly promote, with her rather bad availability and high recruitment costs remaining as her major issues.

Personality
Farina's main personality trait is her love of money. She chargesHector an exorbitant 20,000-gold price for her services by saying that skills like hers do not come cheap. He later finds out that her work is worth a tenth of what he paid.[2] Most of her lines are about how she wants more money and how she cannot understand why people would focus on other things; up to and including her quote in the final battle.[3] Moreover, she is blunt, flippant, and does not take life particularly seriously. In at least three supports, she asks how much the other unit is getting paid and mocks them when they reveal it is far lower than her retainer.[4][5][6] WithKarla in particular, Farina talks dismissively about the discriminatory treatment of Ilian men,[7] and presumes Sacaeans gather and chant "ooga booga" around a ritual fire.[8]
Despite her insensitive and narrow-minded temperament, she does have plenty of redeeming qualities. She gladly givesDorcas and Karla advice find money and get their respective lives together, and admits remorse to how she treatedFlorina andFiora back when they were living inIlia. Farina also tends to stick up for those she respects and for mistreated women in general: she urges Karla not to rely on men to make a wage and demands high prices in part to pay off an extortionate fee Fiora acquired for a contract breach. Her bluntness also means she is more open and clear about issues she sees in life. Farina has no illusions about the precarity of the world, but in spite of that, she is proud of her work and never slacks off.
It is implied Farina's obsession with money is not about luxuries as much as it is achieving respect and independence. She advocates for Florina to charge more for her work and says she's proud of her little sister for becoming more confident. She tells Hector that she can only trust money and that she is disgusted by the typically lecherous behavior of nobles that employ her. When she cannot maintain being flippant, serious situations make her a bit awkward; such as her developing crushes forKent and Hector, and her nervously apologizing to Fiora.
Prior to the events of the story, her relationships with her two sisters were strained. She ran her off on her own after getting into an argument with Fiora, and leaving to seek huge amounts of money. However, by the time she is recruited, their feelings have mellowed out and it is not long before they reconcile. Farina apologizes to Florina for making her cry when Farina toldLyn of the time she got drunk and sang the entire pegasus counting song. Farina also dislikes it when Fiora says that she is the worst sister in Ilia, and it was the whole problem when they had their argument. Farina forgives her, and puts the blame on her only thinking about money at the time.
