White magic (Japanese:白魔法White magic) is a weapon type in theFire Emblem series appearing inFire Emblem Gaiden, its remakeFire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, andFire Emblem: Three Houses. InGaiden andShadows of Valentia, it comprises the game's support spells; it is generally analogous tostaves in other games in the series. Along withblack magic, white magic makes up the broader magic weapon type in the original NES release, but it is split from it in the remake. InThree Houses, white magic is tied to theFaithskill level, and includes some offensive spells in addition to healing and supportive magic. Offensive white magic spells inThree Houses typically appear in other games aslight magic, and supportive spells as staves. In the help texts of white magic spells inThree Houses, they are referred to as "light magic", but most of the rest of menus say "white magic".
