| “ | But if we give him the war he wants, then we lose, no matter what the outcome. Our last conflict nearly ruined the halidom. It left Ylisseans homeless and starving. We cannot repeat that mistake. | ” | — Emmeryn, describingGangrel's goals. |

Emmeryn (Japanese:エメリナEmerina) is the current Exalt ofYlisse, and the elder sister ofChrom andLissa. As with Chrom, she possesses the Brand ofNaga, located on her forehead.
Fire Emblem Awakening
Role
At the start of the game, Emmeryn is the current Exalt ofYlisse and the older sister ofChrom andLissa. She is described as kind and wise, and her talent at negotiating is often praised.
During the war withPlegia, she attempts to negotiate peace with its king,Gangrel, but the attempt fails, turning into a battle where Chrom and theShepherds have to defend against his forces, ending with a declaration of war.
InChapter 6, an attempt is made to assassinate her, but is prevented thanks to"Marth"'s appearance. While Chrom moves toward Plegia inChapter 7,Ylisstol is attacked and Emmeryn is captured by the Plegian forces due to a betrayal from her longtime friend, the Hierarch. In Chrom's attempt to rescue his sister inChapter 9, he and the Shepherds are cornered, and Gangrel demands to surrender theFire Emblem in exchange for her life. Chrom agrees to Gangrel's conditions, but Emmeryn casts herself off the ledge voluntarily, begging the Plegians to turn away from the path of war. InRenewal, Emmeryn's sacrifice is show to have weakened the Plegians' morale and the Shepherds manage to escape with theFire Emblem, but Chrom struggles to deal with his sister's death.
InParalogue 20, the Shepherds discover that Emmeryn is still alive, but has lost nearly all of her memory. If she survives the chapter, she can be recruited into the player's army.

Analysis
| This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience. |
Emmeryn is a level 10Sage recruited after the completion ofParalogue 20 if she survives as an NPC. Unlike some otherSpotPass characters, she does not come with as high stats as the player might think. Her stats do growth quite a bit with each difficulty increase, but not enough to really make a huge difference. Her growths that are not strength and defense are all pretty good. Her mods are great as well, as -2 strength is not bad for a magical character, and -2 defense is also common for magically oriented units. For weapon ranks, Emmeryn starts with a C in tomes, letting her use tomes with Arc as the prefix. She also has an A in staves, letting her use every staff in the game. Her starting skills are interesting. Despite stemming from theCleric class tree, she hasMage's starting skills ofMagic +2 andFocus. They are fine skills for a little bit, but she must reclass to Cleric to get its skills, which is not super great, as Cleric only increases her strength and resistance growths, and reduces her magic, skill, and speed growths. Cleric does at least keep her high staff rank. Her low luck makesMiracle not super reliable, even with her high luck growth that may not be utilized if the player does not grind her levels.Healtouch is a fine supportive skill, adding +5 to her healing output.
Emmeryn starts in the Sage class, and since she is level 10, starts with its level 5 skill ofRally Magic for a great support skill. At level 15, she gainsTomefaire, boosting the damage she deals with tomes by five. While Sage is a great class, Emmeryn does not have full skill slots after gaining Tomefaire without reclassing. If the player is willing to let her have more skills, or a different playstyle, they can do just that. Cleric has the alternative promotion ofWar Cleric, which is sub-optimal since it trades useful tomes for worse axes. Axes are very weak for Emmeryn with her pitiful 9 strength after reclassing, and only having E axes for the use of weakBronze Axes, and she cannot immediately useHand Axes to at least avoid counterattacks. However, if the player is willing to work through this huge weakness, they are rewarded with some great skills.Rally Luck is not the best rally skill, but it has its uses, mainly to reduce crit chances from enemies.Renewal is an amazing skill that any magical unit would want to heal damage on player phase, since most magical units have poor defense. These skills, while good, will require a fair amount of grinding, and will usually just be skipped. As a final note, War Cleric increases her growths in HP, strength, and defense, and reduces her growths in magic, skill, and speed.
TheTroubadour class tree is another great reclass option for Emmeryn as another way to keep her high staff rank. Troubadour only increases her growth in resistance, and reduces her growth in skill.Resistance +2 is not great in the presence of better skills, andDemoiselle is good if the player would rather Emmeryn be mostly supportive. When it comes to promotions, Troubabour can also promote to War Cleric, giving more points of HP, strength, and defense, but obviously loses one point of movement. The main point of Troubadour is the promotion ofValkyrie, which gives more points of speed, resistance, and movement, and regains tome access if she does not directly reclass. Valkyrie also has the same growths as Troubadour.Rally Resistance is another good support skill, andDual Support+ increases Dual support bonuses. Valkyrie is potentially better than Sage on virtue of having eight movement compared to Sage's six, but she will be weak to beast effective weapons, and has different stat caps, so keep this in mind.
ThePegasus Knight class tree may seem bad, but given the investment, this is a great reclass option. Starting with the base Pegasus Knight, it increases her HP, strength, skill, and speed growths, and only reduces her magic growth.Speed +2 is heavily outclassed this late in the game, andRelief is an easier to obtain Renewal, but it only activates if she is three or more spaces away from an ally. Since both of Pegasus Knight's promotions have a magical feature to them, they can make okay final classes. The first promotion ofFalcon Knight supplies more points of HP, strength, skill, speed, and defense, and gains staff access again to be a more mobile support unit. Falcon Knight also only increases her magic growth. For skills,Rally Speed is another great rally skill, andLancefaire is good, but only if Emmeryn remains in a lance-wielding class. Even then, her poor strength will still make using lances difficult.Dark Flier instead gives more points of magic, and gains tomes instead of staves to be a more mobile offensive unit.Rally Movement is great to give allies more move to reach places quicker, andGaleforce is the most busted skill in the game. If Emmeryn defeats a foe on player phase, she gets to take another turn, making routing maps much quicker.
Emmeryn can only supportRobin, and consequently, can only mother Robin's child,Morgan. Emmeryn will pass good increases to Morgan's HP, magic, skill, speed, and luck growths. While this pairing may seem good on the surface, Emmeryn's late recruitment hampers the ability to gain support points without grinding. Thus, this pairing sould only be used for emergencies where the player would need Morgan's combat, but she is the only marriage candidate available.
Fire Emblem Heroes
Role
Two variations of Emmeryn are present inFire Emblem Heroes. The normal variation of Emmeryn was added to the game in theWallowing in Love update, and was initially made available to players as a reward for the "Book IV Midpoint" quests, which ran from June 5, 2020, to June 18, 2020; she was later made available to summon from the 3★ and 4★ summoning pools starting with theLegendary Heroes - Seliph summoning event on June 30, 2020. A young version of Emmeryn, based on her childhood design as depicted inAwakening's concept art, was added on April 5, 2024, and was first available to summon from then to May 4, 2024.

Personality
Emmeryn has ruled Ylisse since the death of her father when she was aged ten, and is famous as a kind and forgiving leader. She is a strong believer in peace above all else, after the last war Ylisse experienced during her father's reign left the people of Ylisse in poverty and ruin. She is the most resilient member of the army.
She is called "Emm" by her siblings.

Emmeryn, Gentle Heart (single ending)
Sadly, Emmeryn's fractured memory never fully returned. She took refuge in Ferox after the war and started anew as an ordinary woman—a life that one can hope held fewer pressures than her exalted one.
Robin, High Deliver & Emmeryn, Gentle Heart
Many wrote of Robin's legendary exploits, but accounts of his origins and character varied. Scholars, poets, and bards agreed on one thing alone—he loved his wife, Emmeryn, above all else.
