Eclipse (skill)

Eclipse (Japanese:月光Moonlight) is aoffensive skill exclusive toFire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. It is a modified version of theLuna skill which provides a 5x increase instrength as opposed to Luna's 3x increase, and in the Japanese version it shares the name of that skill. It is themastery skill of theBlack Knight. In addition, examination of the game's data has found that it is also the mastery skill of a variant of theMarshall class exclusive to GeneralZelgius ofBegnion, with a complete unused skill animation. WhenIke fights the Black Knight, it is advised that he be equipped withNihil, as a hit from Eclipse is guaranteed to be fatal.

Trivia
- The North American description for the Black Knight class erroneously states that it wields Luna instead of Eclipse. This error occurred due to Luna and Eclipse sharing the same Japanese name. This was corrected in the PAL release.
- Eclipse deals the highest amount of raw damage in the entirety ofRadiant Dawn - not taking into account weapon triangle, height or terrain bonuses, withAlondite on the Black Knight's base strength, it will deal 208 damage, more than enough to hypothetically kill anything in the game (includingAshera, who has the highestHP in the game at 120) in a single hit. The minimum possible damage it can deal is 191, if activated with aSlim Sword against a lance-wielding enemy.
