Desperation orAlacrity (Japanese:攻め立てIncessant Attack) is a four-tiered passive type Bskill which debuted inFire Emblem Heroes; the individual tiers of the skill are known asDesperation 1,Desperation 2,Desperation 3, andDesperation 4 in order from lowest to highest. Units with a Desperation skill reorders any of their follow-up attacks to right after their initial attack provided their currentHP is below a certain threshold; the maximum HP threshold needed for activation increases with the tier of the skill.
The skill was introduced to the main series inThree Houses, where it is an ability obtained by mastering theCavalier class. It retains the same effect and use it had inHeroes. InEngage, Alacrity is gained by equippingLyn'sEmblem Ring, or by inheriting it from her. Similar toHeroes, the skill gains multiple variations. Its activation criteria is changed to be based on the user'sspeed relative to the enemy's, rather than based on the user's current HP, with the speed threshold needed lessening as the ability is upgraded. With Alacrity++, the final tier, the threshold is the same as the one for a follow-up attack.
