Defeat Bandits (Japanese:山賊討伐Defeat Bandits) was a promotionaltrial map fromFire Emblem: The Binding Blade. To unlock it, the player must have been one of the many winners in a Ranking tournament on the officialBinding Blade website and mail their cartridge to have the map installed.[1]
As the map is never programmed to the game by default, and no surviving save backups exist of any of the cartridge's winners, it is currently lost media. Though it is described as having a diamond-shaped mountain at the center, with the player's army on the left, and the enemy castle on the right,[2] no images for this map have surfaced.

- ↑2.02.12.2"I participated in the ranking that took place on the official Binding Blade website. At that time, I sent a GBA cartridge to Nintendo and received the Defeat Bandits trial map. I still have that cartridge. However, 20 years later, I can't load the Defeat Bandits map, probably because the battery in the cartridge had died. It's possible all of the existing cartridges that received this trial map are in the same state, so I cannot speak about the exact data. If I were to speak from my memory at the time, it would look something like this (this is just an image in my memory):
- The map was about 24 ft. wide and 20 ft. high.
- Your units are initially placed on the left side of the map.
- The high mountains are spread out in a diamond shape in the center of the map. The length of the diagonal of the rhombus is about 16 ft. wide and 14 ft. long.
- In the center of the high mountain area, there are 3 squares of flat land, and a fortress where there is a sage with Bolting and Fortify.
- Berserkers and wyvern lords are scattered throughout the map.
- Infantry classes such as snipers, heroes, and sages are placed along the path.
- The enemy castle is on the right side of the map, and is the seize point.
It is worth noting that this is the only map where enemy units use Fortify. The Fortify staff can't be obtained in the main story of The Binding Blade, and is only wielded by Brunnya, who you can use in the trial maps. Since the enemies are equipped with such a rare item, it left quite an impression on me at the time." — @taketokinoko,"Fire Emblem 6's Lost Trial Maps" by Filbertian, YouTube,Published: September 27, 2022,Retrieved: March 30, 2025
