Death Knight: The Reaper, based on the Death Knight's appearance inFire Emblem: Three Houses, was first made available from August 12, 2019 – August 21, 2019 as part of the eponymousGrand Hero Battle,Death Knight: The Reaper. His personal weapon is theScythe of Sariel, which was able to berefined as part of the 7.1.0 Update on January 10, 2023. He is able to be summoned usingHeroic Grails since the 3.10.0 Update on October 8, 2019.

The Death Knight is fought duringBook III, Chapter 10, inPart 4 andPart 5. He appears in theTactics Drills twice, used duringGrandmaster 74 andGrandmaster 119.

The Death Knight featured in theVoting Gauntlet beginning on May 29, 2020,Shrouded Skirmish, during which he lost in Round 2 toMarth: Enigmatic Blade. He served as the enemy commander duringMjölnir's Strike during event 34 (September 4, 2020 – September 6, 2020), event 82 (November 15, 2022 – November 18, 2022), and event 155 (August 5, 2024 – August 8, 2024). He also featured as a Røkkr on the first phase of the twelfthRøkkr Sieges beginning on February 21, 2021. Additionally, he was the boss during the thirdFrontline Phalanx, which ran from March 9, 2021 – March 19, 2021, fighting againstDedue: Dimitri's Vassal,Flayn: Playing Innocent,Hilda: Idle Maiden, andHubert: Sinister Servant.

The Death Knight was the focus of two Grand Hero Party Quests. The first, running from May 1, 2020 – May 2, 2020, gave out a 4★ version as a quest reward. The second, running on February 6, 2023, instead gave out a 5★ version as a quest reward. Additionally, a 3★ version could be received as a quest reward from March 30, 2020 – April 6, 2020.

The Death Knight's artwork was adjusted during the 3.10.0 Update on October 8, 2019. The updated artwork reshaded his armor entirely, added dramatic shadows during his special attack artwork, and adjusted some details on his legs.

All kinds of different Heroes have been summoned to Askr—some bright and cheerful, some dark and brooding. And now, here comes the Death Knight, taking the number one spot on my top ten list of Heroes I wouldn't want to meet in a dark alleyway!	With that huge scythe he carries around, I can see why people call him the Death Knight… He looks like he's about to do some grim reaping, that's for sure.	It's hard to say much more about Mr. Death here. No one really knows where he came from, and no one's seen what he looks like under the armor either!	All we know is that he wanders the land at night, looking for a worthy challenger. Do you think he'll find who he's looking for in Askr?
