Daniela (Japanese:ダニエラDaniera) is aNohrian border guard captain charged with attempting to trap theChevois resistance, and the capturable boss ofChapter 14 in theBirthright campaign ofFire Emblem Fates. As a capturable boss, Daniela can be captured byOrochi and placed into theMy Castle's prison if one is present, then recruited into the player's army as a bonus unit from there.

Role
Daniela appears as the leader of a large army guarding the Nohrian border. She is stationed inside a heavily fortified border wall, with its only entrance guarded byBenny andCharlotte. Ultimately, theHoshidan army and the Chevois resistance led byCorrin break through the border, with Daniela being either slain or captured.

Daniela is level 6 prepromotedStrategist, first being playable when she is persuaded in the prison of theMy Castle afterOrochi captures her in Chapter 14 ofBirthright. Her biggest boon is being in a mounted class, greatly enhancing her fighting capabilities. Her base stats are decent, but her growths leave something to be desired, with magic, speed, luck, and resistance being quite high, and every other growth being below average. Even with the lot of bad growths she has, she is still very good because her good growths are the stats she needs most to be an effective combat unit. Another of her problems is that she barely gets a stat boost on Lunatic, only getting +5 HP. Through all her flaws, her biggest boon aside from a mount is her weapon ranks. A B in tomes lets her use a large variety of scrolls, and her B in staves lets her use many different rods. On Lunatic, she even gets a boost to an A in staves. On all difficulties, she has an extra skill not in her class line, beingSavage Blow from theWyvern Rider class line, which lets her deal chip damage to surrounding enemies after combat.
As for all capturable bosses, Daniela should always grab as many skills as possible, though they will mostly turn her into a support unit. In either Strategist orMaid, she getsResistance +2 for some extra damage reduction from magic, andDemoiselle gives male units -2 damage taken if they are within two spaces. As a Strategist, she getsRally Resistance to reduce magical damage for other units, andInspiration gives all units +2 damage and a -2 damage reduction within two spaces. Her reclass option of Maid has great skills that are worth the reclass, being the usefulLive to Serve, which helps bolster her bad defensive stats with getting self healing from healing an ally, andTomebreaker for being very powerful since it gives an extra fifty hit and avoid against tomes/scrolls, though it could be rendered less useful than for other units since she will generally have a high resistance stat.
Personality
As a minor boss, Daniela's personality is not explored upon. From her few speaking lines, she is confident in her abilities to "butcher" the Hoshidan army, and expresses disbelief when she is defeated.

Trivia
- There is aglitch where, if Daniela is promoted to aDark Falcon, her in-game model will use her regular horse rather than theFalicorn the dark falcon usually rides. This results in Daniela riding a floating horse without wings.
- Daniela is the only distinct capturable enemy outside ofConquest who possesses a skill she cannot normally have access to; capturableLancers found in skirmishes outside ofConquest share this distinction in possessing skills they do not normally have access to.
