Clarisse (Japanese:クライネKleine) is one ofEremiya's assassins and a recurring antagonistic character in an exclusive side plot inFire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem primarily encompassing itsside quest chapters. Clarisse is portrayed as a loyal underling who is rarely distracted from her mission, a sharp contrast to her "sister"Reese.

Biography

Clarisse first appears inPrologue 5, the chapter that begins the side plot, where she and her "brother"Legion observe the progress Reese is making on her mission. Clarisse serves as the nominal boss ofChapter 3x, where she leads the forces who have corneredWrys, telling Reese that she'll take great pleasure in killing her former companions; circumstances, however, force her to flee the battle early. InChapter 6x, Clarisse is present to see Legion's clone off to a mission; inChapter 10x, she is ordered to kill Legion and his remaining clones after Legion fails.

Clarisse serves as the boss ofChapter 13x, where she is tasked into leading the forces taking onMarth's army in the middle of araging blizzard. She is spotted byAthena, who apparently complicates the matter, then eventually defeated by Marth's forces. Upon her defeat, she allows Reese to help her out of the area, noting how Reese cared for her despite being treated like dirt. Reese later seeks to have Clarisse treated for her injuries, but Eremiya orders her to let Clarisse die; Clarisse finally shows her caring side as she dies by Reese's side.

Clarisse is also a playable character ina bonus mission taking place shortly after theWar of Shadows, where Eremiya tasks her into taking out the remnants of the Soothsires, a group that had apparently been taken out by Marth's army during the War of Shadows. Once the mission is finished, she and Reese find themselves inside what appears to be her childhood home and briefly remembers her parents.

Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem

As with a number of other characters inNew Mystery of the Emblem, there is a unique weapon named for Clarisse available throughEveryone's Conditions:Clarisse's Bow.

Clarisse: Sniper in the Dark
Clarisse is a sniper who belongs to a group of assassins stalking the continent of Archanea. She and her ally, Legion, have worked together on a number of missions.	Orphaned as a child, Clarisse was taken in by the group's leader, Eremiya, who trained her to be an assassin.	Clarisse idolizes Eremiya for having raised her. Whatever her adoptive mother demands, she'll do it—no matter how cruel she has to be.	Apparently, there was someone at the orphanage who Clarisse considered her older sister. They must have been close… I wonder what kind of person she was?
