Appearance(s)
Marth and company set off to Chiasmir and the Fane of Raman—but in their path stood a cohort of Grustian knights known as the Sable Order. The bridges across the strait would soon be choked with the brave and the dead…
— Opening narration ofChapter 18

Chiasmir (Japanese:カシミアCashmere) is a country[1] from the far-west of theArchanean continent—acting as a province to theAltean Union.[2] The bridges across its strait acted as a site for a couple battles, along with theFane of Raman within its island south.[3]

History

History of the Fane of Raman in this section is kept to a minimum. For more information regarding it specifically, seeFane of Raman § History.

During theWar of Shadows, theArchanean League, in followingGotoh's words, set off for Chiasmir's Fane of Raman after reclaimingAltea. Blocking their path was theSable Order at Chiasmir Bridge and the land below; led bySternlin, who guarded the fane.Marth's forces prevailed to then make their way into the temple.

Navarre defending Phina from the bandits.

During the outbreak of theWar of Heroes in A.C. 607,[4] the Altean army made their move back to their homeland afterArchanea seized Altea by force during their absence. FromGrust, they traveled to Chiasmir along with plans to visit the Fane of Raman atWendell's behest. Upon reaching Chiasmir, spotted were various thieves in the forest evacuating with good stolen from the fane, as well as Archanea'sfree company who were occupying Chiasmir Bridge's entrance near some fortresses. Prior to Altea's arrival,Phina was also separated from her troupe and got lost in the forest. Those same bandits then attacked her, but she was saved byNavarre around when Marth's army appeared.

After their detour at the Fane of Raman, the Altean army makes for Chiasmir Bridge but was then found surrounded by Archanean forces. To the bridges' north was Archanea's emperorHardin commanding the opposing forces, readying them to attack Marth's army. From the north also approachedCain, who informed Marth of a boat to the north: ready to take him away from Hardin's trap toKhadein. Altea succeeds in passing the rest of Chiasmir Bridge and reaching the boat, leaving Hardin behind.

Notable locations in Chiasmir

It acted as a location of battle for both the War of Shadows and Heroes. The central islet is also known to contain some inhabitants to its east.[b]

Notes

  1. The English name derives fromShadow Dragon & the Blade of Light.[5] The Japanese name ofカシミア大橋 comes from the scripts ofMystery of the Emblem[6] andNew Mystery of the Emblem,[7] whileカシミアの橋 was used previously in the map provided in the manual ofShadow Dragon & Blade of Light.[2]
  2. InShadow Dragon & the Blade of Light andShadow Dragon, the islet to its east houses: twoArmories, twoVendors, anArena, and aConvoy in the case of the former title. InMystery of the Emblem andNew Mystery of the Emblem, that area contains oneVillage, and one Armory was moved to the west.
  3. As seen by the behavior of the "Fire Dragon" enemyunit duringChapter 7.
