Analysis

Cherche is a level 12Wyvern Rider starting in Chapter 12 ofAwakening. Her stat lineup is interesting. She has good strength and skill bases. Her speed is a little low considering she starts in a level where there are a bunch of moderately fast enemies. The biggest problem is on Lunatic, where everyBow Knight andPaladin can handily double her. The Bow Knights are more of a problem with their effective damage, and they can potentially one-shot or severely weaken Cherche, meaning the player has to be careful in feeding XP to her in the map. For the rest of the stats, her luck is fine, her defense is great, and her resistance is terrible. Her growths are high in all areas except magic and resistance. She comes with a C in axes, letting her use steel and killer weapons immediately. She can also use theHammer in her joining chapter to shred through theKnights that are at weapon triangle disadvantage for easy experience.

Cherche has an amazing base class line, and mediocre reclass options. She should mainly stay in her main classline.Wyvern Lord gives more HP, strength, and defense, and access to lances. Wyvern Lord also retains her Wyvern Rider growths.Griffon Rider supplies more skill and speed, and increases those as growths, but reduces her strength and defense growths. Both can be viable choices for a final class. Her reclass options are not the greatest with both being magically oriented, so she should reclass to both her main promotion options to get their skills. Wyvern Lord getsQuick Burn, which is usually only helpful for low turn count strategies, andSwordbreaker gives a massive boost to hit and avoid against swords. Griffon Rider getsDeliverer for extra movement when paired up, andLancebreaker for another massive boost to hit and avoid when fighting lances.

As previously mentioned, her reclass options are not great.Troubadour andCleric are both suboptimal with her terrible magic base. She does have an okay magic growth at 40% as a Troubadour,Valkyrie, andSage. Cleric is slightly worse at 35%.Resistance +2 andDemoiselle are mostly unnecessary for Cherche, since she is intended to be a combat powerhouse rather than fulfill a supportive role.Healtouch will only be useful if she remains in Valkyrie, Sage, orWar Cleric.Miracle is the only skill that could be of interest to prevent getting one-shot by effective damage, but she will lose the ability to use axes, which is suboptimal. War Cleric is the only reclass option she should feasibly use for skills, as it retains her ability to use axes.Renewal is great to heal some damage taken, andRally Luck can be fine with her limited amount of good skills to use.Rally Resistance andRally Magic are not worth it to lose access to axes for E tomes and staves, nor isDual Support+, andTomefaire has no use if she is using a physical class.

Cherche's sonGerome cannot inherit the covetedGaleforce skill, meaning the best he can have isLuna. Many fathers pass down Luna in the form of an inherited skill, or from bothCavalier andKnight promoting toGreat Knight. However, it does have procing issues, meaning a father likeVaike orGregor who can passAxefaire for guaranteed damage could be better.

The normal variation of Cherche is one of the characters available to be summoned by players from the game's initial launch. Her sense of aesthetics is unusual, as she refers to monsters such as herWyvern, Minerva, as sweet and adorable. House Virion are the traditional rulers of Rosanne, a region in the continent of Valm—and the head of this noble house is served by Cherche, a wyvern-riding Hero!	Cherche is a kind, considerate, and devoted retainer. When her homeland was invaded and House Virion fell, she chose to continue serving her liege.	Her wyvern, Minerva, may look a little scary, but she's an irreplaceable partner to Cherche. In fact, Cherche treats Minerva like a best friend and thinks she's just adorable! • Cherche was one of the first characters designed forAwakening.^[2]
