Analysis

Caineghis is a lion laguz available for the endgame. As a laguz royal, Caineghis has Formshift and can shift and attack on the same turn. Caineghis, when transformed, has the highest base attack power in the game (unless Giffca received a strength transfer) and enough speed to double all generic enemies past his join time, allowing him to easily one-round most enemies past his join time while taking very little damage in return due to his massive defense. Caineghis also boasts 9 movement when transformed, so he will never fall behind your other units on the front lines. Caineghis does suffer from two main flaws, those being his low resistance and lack of 2 range attacks, which become more significant in the last two chapters, but he can still tank hits due to his colossal HP.

Caineghis, for a laguz unit, has decent growths in strength, skill, luck and defense, but low growths in HP, speed and resistance. His growths don't particularly matter due to joining at an extremely high level, but he has capped skill and can use BEXP to force some stat growths in other areas. Unfortunately, Caineghis' low speed growth hurts him, as he will likely be unable to double Ashera or her auras without standing next to Nasir, whereas Giffca can easily reach the speed threshold. Caineghis is still useful in 4-E-5 though, as many units are unable to double the auras even with White Pool support, and he can still hit extremely hard.

Caineghis joins with the Fortune skill to prevent enemy critical hits, which is mostly wasted on him, due to physical enemies barely damaging him and most remaining magical enemies being unable to inflict critical hits, and his high luck is usually enough to avoid them anyway. Fortune is best removed and sold or given to someone with a deficient luck stat. Caineghis makes great use of just about any offensive skill due to his excellent offensive stats, but skills such as Wrath or Resolve might not work as well, because his durability prevents him from getting under half HP. Caineghis can also make decent use of Provoke to prevent enemies from targeting weaker allies.

Caineghis has an earth affinity which gives a massive boost to avoid. Caineghis doesn't particularly need support bonuses and he cannot build significant supports without grinding due to his late join time, but the avoid boost is significant even if he only has a C support, and it can help less dodgy units like Kurthnaga. Caineghis can be a decent support partner for other earth affinity units like Ike or Ena, but he will often outpace them due to his high movement.

Caineghis: Gallia's Lion King
Caineghis is the king of Gallia, a country of laguz. As his appearance might suggest, he can turn into a lion, complete with sharp fangs and claws!	He's won the hearts of his people with his bravery and leadership, selflessly joining the battlefield to help defend Gallia from outside threats.	That's right, he doesn't just sit on the throne all day! He's an outstanding warrior, and with those claws of his, he could tear a whole row of foes to shreds with a single blow.	Caineghis is an honorable man who never resorts to trickery and advocates for the coexistence of the laguz and beorc races. He's clearly a wise man—we could learn a lot from him!
